INTERNET MARKETING

I wonder, is there anyone had marketed their products via chatting online (Yahoo or other famous chat rooms). I had tried once, but I could not get any success over it. Is there any tricks?

It works to create buzz as does talking about a product in your facebook status updates. I would avoid linking to it, discuss it get someone's attention and then sell it to them as you would if you were attempting to do so in person.

  I used to market in chat rooms using a chat bot I rigged up with Zinc (console based line yahoo chat client), shell scripts, and baling wire. It worked out pretty good. Since then, Yahoo has cracked down on bots.

I had a business partner that did chat room marketing some years ago. He was successful at it and tried to teach me to do it the same way. But I end up meeting a friend who was not interested in my business.
