Question about Merchant Opt In Affiliate Tracking

Ok, I'm too much of a Newbie to post in Warrior Forum. Congrats to Dee Power for running with George Wright's affiliate friendliness idea.

Everyone is building their list, as they should. Is there a best practice for merchants to track affiliate ids in their autoresponders and marketing, or is the affiliate out of luck for commissions on email marketing revenue?

If you're promoting a Clickbank product, then as long as the merchant doesn't use a different hoplink, you'll still get credit. I own several clickbank products and I don't cheat affiliates and I don't know any merchant who does (although I'm sure there are some out there).

Search the forums, there are a few threads showing the exact code you need to store an affiliate ID in your autoresponder, and how to use that in your emails.

It's a 5-minute job and means your affiliates will get credit for any sales they refer ANY time in the future.
