I opened a standard blog on wp. I want to add ad sense to it or widgetbuck or any other type of contextual ads. I found a video tutorial, which starts... "you must have wp installed on your server, you must have ftp -- etc. etc." Huh? Can't a normal person opening a normal (basic) blog add ways to monetize it. Isn't that exactly what (pretty much) EVERYBODY is wanting to do? If so, why is such a MYSTERY as to HOW to do that?!? Please advise. Thanks. |

Adsense is not allowed on Wordpress.com. They are FREE blogs and have some restrictions. If you have a wordpress blog on your website then you can put Adsense on that blog. Typically the FREE blogs that Wordpress host are used to generate traffic to your other sites or sites you are promoting as an affiliate. I found the following post on Wordpress. It just states Adsense is not allowed. http://support.wordpress.com/?s=adsense |

If you host the blog on your server you can add your adsense code to a text widget and you'll have it in your sidebar. You can also add it to your header.php file to have one at the top. Like on my blog in my sig below. Mike |
