Community engagement on a one off info product?

If you have a one off payment for either an info product or membership site and part of that payment is for access to a community and Q&A...

Would you actually WANT people to hang around in your community by making it easy to use, and encouraging them to interact?

or

Would you rather (since they already paid) have the community so convoluted, confusing and difficult to navigate that they ignore it completely.

        Not sure why you would bother to have a community or Q&A that discourages people from using it. Why not just NOT have it to begin with? If you offer (advertise) something as part of a sale or as a bonus of the sale - and it's not usable or enjoyable or understandable...couldn't that reduce buyer satisfaction with the product or membership they paid for?
