I have a great squeeze page offering a quality gift. I am trying to build my first list. I work a lot of hours and don't have time to market the site on my own.

I can afford to pay $150. a month to have a service drive traffic for me.

Where would that money be best spent?

If you don't have time for your site then you can Get a freelancer to write articles and post them to article directories with your resource box (and your link). I think you will get someone to work for $150 a month if you look outside USA in countries like India, Pakistan, Romania etc where dollar has a high value because $150 dollars means:

12,355 Rupees in Pakistan (a full time salary)
7,255 Rupees in India
442 Ron in Romania

Maybe look for someone to write you very cheap articles, and then in the little time you have you can submit them everywhere and build some links back to them.

If everything else is done well (your squeeze page, your autoresponders etc.) that $150 a month should turn into at least twice that much. And then in month two you'll have $300 to spend.

personally I would invest it in educating yourself in different marketing strategies for right now, because then you can generate all the leads you want for nothing but your time. Also, in educating yourself in different areas, you'll be able to turn around and educate others and start your following in that way!

Without going into to much detail, 400 bucks a month has gotten me 0 dollars LoL. But i'm not selling anything. My site is about a month old and I get about 20 to 30 hits a day.

PLR articles are a good way to go ... you can get tons for cheap ... it helps with backlinks too

There are ads in the classified section of this forum that could provide the solution to your problem. I saw an ad where you could hire someone for 20 hours a week for $150 per month. You might want to check that out. Good luck.

You can forum market. That's FREE.

Just respond intelligently to threads and post on this forum. Optimize your signature so that it's targeted towards newbies (put a benefit in the anchor text).

You'll find a lot of people here want to create their first website.

As an alternative (or combo), hire someone from Pakistan or India to post on Digital Point, since that's where all the newbs are.

Just kidding.

I'm afraid $150 won't get you far in the MMO niche. You would have to have many, many articles to be found. And you would need someone bookmarking all those articles, and linkbuilding from MMO blogs. Not sure your budget will pay for all the effort it will take.

Maybe you should go to MMO bloggers and just ask them to link to your sales page since your book is free. They may be able to give you feedback that you can use to improve your sales page and product. Ask them if you can write a guest post with a link to your sales page in it.

$150 could get you 50 $3 articles, then post them to article directories. The article quality won't be great but 50 articles per month is nothing to be sneezed at.

Have you thought about going the twitter route, buy yourself some twitter automation and build a good list to tweet and have retweets for your offer. Just build your follow and followers evenly.

You have to build the trust factor so don't go right in with an offer.

doesn't matter. he doesn't have to answer that question. Worry about how much you are making. rather he is or not means nothing, he asked for fast traffic generation, I've yet to see the traffic method that trumps them all.

Paid Traffic.

Maybe some missed the part where he mentioned "not alot of time to market", but I'm telling you here.

PPC(yahoo, google, msn), banner, ezine, listbuilders (yes, they work!).

The other method is that of outsourcing free marketing time consuming strategies like article marketing, but I personally much preger google PPC.

I use free marketing to supplement paid traffic, not as an alternative. it'll serve ;you well, watch for spending

You can outsource 'Yahoo answers' posts for $150, to get targeted high no. of traffic which will sign up for a free gift and will convert later.

I respectfully disagree with you saying it does not matter how much he is or is not making.....read the website and read the comments, I said the same thing above that I am confused about a site that earns that much ( as stated on the site ) and can only spend $ 150. per month.

A full time income on the internet as stated would perhaps create interest in what he is selling. I am not starting trouble here but i am shocked that of everyone that has ansered, only 2 of us actually read the page....if that is the case, how valid is the advice being given to Skippy ?

Forget classified ads, paid traffic etc You need quality targeted traffic. You need to invest in keyword based articles on your topic for good SERPS. infact if you can write them yourself, you wont have to invest. Instead, use your money for adwords

For $150 a month you can simply use adwords or other PPC to drive the traffic to your website.

Since it's pretty much 'set and forget' now you can go do something else.

You can find a website that gets the kind of targetted traffic you are interested in and do a deal with the website owner to place a banner ad on the site for $ 100 - $ 150 a month.

Provided you did your market research first using alexa.com you should be on to a winner!
