ZenCart Ecommerce or Virtuemart or e-commerce?

I need to know what would be the best solution and easiest to implement.

I have fantastico on one of my hosts and I need the following.

I need a shopping cart solution that will keep track of groups of users. That is the products being ordered will billed to certain departments within an organization.

Would it be best to have a membership type site where each department logs in and orders through a shopping cart or is there a better solution available than the one posted in the title.

I would prefer a wordpress solution but if you know of something better would love to hear about it.

    I know zencart can do group pricing but not sure about what you want.
    Have you asked on their forum if this is possible?

      The price would be the same for each group ... just need to track each groups orders so it can be billed weekly or monthly to the appropriate group.

    There is a Wordpress shopping cart plugin, with a free version of limited functionality, and you have to purchase the version with more functionality. When it comes to Joomla, the the Virtuemart plugin will require programmer to be customized and work appropriately for any given project. Zencart may be user-friendly but has had security issues.

      Sounds like you may have tried a few. What is your favorite and why?

    I don't have a favorite. They all kind of annoy me in different ways. We have been able to do some fancy things with Virtuemart like give it the functionality necessary for an optical site like parallel dropdown fields for an order, which is kind of tricky and required programming. Out of the box simplicity could go to either the wordpress plugin or Zen Cart. I can't say offhand what's the best solution for your needs.

      I really appreciate everyone input. It looks like after looking at the wordpress plugin solution e-commerce the paid version may do it.

      If anyone else has any solutions or experiences I would love to hear them.
