I want to create a catchy logo for my online business, something that would trademark my brand and make me memorable.

Where/Who is the best place to get this work done?

Hi Jason,
I know there are a lot of people on here for hire.
I am sure someone will contact you after seeing your post.
Just be sure to check past work they have done.
High school kids are another source of cheap, imaginative work.
I have also seen a couple of people holding contests with a $100 payout or some sort of figure. This attracts a lot of people submitting their ideas giving you a large selection to choose from.

Do you have any friends or family that do this or work with people that do?

My go to gal is the graphic designer for the company my sister-in-law works for and is also her friends.

Many time I get it for no charge - I'll give her gift card for dinner though. She enjoys using her skills outside the humdrum of the corporate world. The stuff I give her is more fun and creative.

She did the graphics, logos, and background for my wifes wedding business website and business cards.

I've used other designers else where as well and paid a pretty penny but I like my local resource and personal contact better.

Guess that I am lucky.
