For Noob it easier to make a on wordpress/blogspot then get own domain

About three days ago i bought a domain and hosting then i downloaded wordpress and thought i was going to be ready to go.. boy was i wrong. I wasted about 6 hours of my time tring to figure out how to get my site going. I did everything that the wpress trouble shoot told me to do and i could not log on to my site to edit it. The only thing i saw was the stupid xango links on mysite. I deleted everything think im going to create a free wordpress or blogspot and just work on the site then transfer it to my own domain. will this be easier to do?

Having a site hosted by Wordpress will definitely be easier to set up, because essneitally there IS no set up. But it's always better to have your own hosting.

Since you've already bought a domain, I'd suggest you keep playing around until you get things working. It took me a lot longer than 6 hours to figure out how to set up a site on Wordpress...

But now that I know what I'm doing I can have a new site up and running and looking great in 5 minutes.

Learning the basics, like setting up your own sites, is never a waste of time.

If you've got your domain and hosting set up then you should check to see whether your hosting provider offers 1-click installation of WordPress.

It's quite unusual for a hosting provider not to offer that these days.

If they do then you may want to delete all WordPress related files on your site (including your database) so you have a clean sheet, and then follow their instructions for the one click installation.

That should get the base WordPress application set up.

Then you'll need to find and install some themes and plugins - which you can now do from within the WordPress admin screens.

I wrote a tutorial on how to set up a new self hosted WordPress blog - it includes suggested plugins (with links to download them) and links to lots of theme sites. It also describes the manual process of installing them although, as I mentioned above, you can now do that from within WordPress.

The manual itself is absolutely free (not even any optin required) but it does contain affiliate links.

If it's of interest you can find it here:

You can call your hosting company customer service and ask them to run the install for you. Bam, done.
