First time posting something on ebay as a classified ad however running into some questions I was wondering if someone who has done it before could help me with.

1. Can you add links into the ad area so example if im selling an ebook i can put a click here to claim your free ebook an then when clicked it takes them to my squeeze page?

2. If the above is not possible which seems like that is the case but not sure how would you go about directing viewers to your web site to claim their free ebook?

3. What methods do you use to sell an ebook or affiliate link on ebay?

Thanks Warriors!

    Sean,

I have used eBay Classifieds a lot. You can put links right into the ad to your website or sales page. I would put a link to a website you control, or if its an affiliate link use a redirect from a domain you control.

Not sure your niche, but some niches do much better on eBay Classifieds than others. For example, the pet niche is great for eBay Classifieds, the health niche has not been good for me. In both cases I used free giveaways.

    Good luck!

BTW, forgot to mention, you can put your HTML opt-in form right in the ad. Aweber gives you a javascript and HTML version, just make sure you sue the HTML version.

ebay says the classifieds are for lead generation only, so an aweber autoresponder form would be OK.

Direct links to websites, and PayPal or other Buy Now buttons are not allowed but you will still see tons of people doing it.

Here's a couple good links for you I think:

Ebay is the worlds largest online store. This is a 400 billion dollar year buisness, has 200 Million Members, 2 million visitors per day, $100,000 in sales per minute.

What you want to do is not just post a classified ad, by the way it is $20.00, for 30 days. To begin with your classified ad is only seen in the USA. So if you posted an ad and did nothing else, well you not going to get the desired results . (I use a free product for opt ins to my list. In your follow up email you will list your primary site. Ebay does not allow you to link directly to a page that has Items for sell) Take a look at my classified under item 160427039232. Ok here you see the first step to making this work for you. Next you need to create an auction on ebay say for example some CD's or something that is a non down loadable product. Then you start your bidding at 3 to 5 bucks (The auction cost about 5 bucks for 7days,but is advertised World Wide, see the difference) Now what you want to do in your auction is link back to your classified ad where they can get your advertised product for FREE. You see this is why I never sell my CD's.. Why should they pay when they can get the information for free.

(By the way I sell clickbank, CPA, and other affiliate products and programs.)

Now after you have done all that you will see a surge in traffic when your auction is running and at the end of the month when you ad is about to expire. Never, Never buy more than a 30 day ad at a time.

In addition if you are an affiliate marketer like myself I would strongly recommend you go to the next step. The next step is to set up you own ebay store where you CAN sell Clickbank and other down loadable products. There are a ton of benefits to doing this....Free ebay advertising for one. The cost of your store is only costs $16.00 a month....Well I could go on and on. The bottom line to all of this is that ebay is an great resource that is virtually untapped. People think it is just for auctions...Well let me tell you all it is much, much more..... You just need to know the ins and the outs.

Today I am working on developing a free "Software" product to give away on ebay to get even more opt ins/sales.

I hope this has been helpful and please if you have questions ask me.

My understanding is that the classifieds on Ebay only allow people to click the contact the seller to have contact and that you can't add in links or even post an e-mail address. I wasn't able to see your classified ad to understand the process you described.

you are allowed to set up your "about me page" this is where those in the know put their optin form and they link their classified to the about me page. I recommend you get
SILENT SALES MACHINE last time it ran by me it was on special for $5.00. That will show you a trick to use actual auctions to get your about me page seen as well. All very legit and white hat, you'll really love it. hint: i like to promote "ebay" training on my about me page. they like that.

Ya, I have used the Canadian Version of ebay classifieds (it's called Kijiji) with some luck.

MMO niche is too saturated and everyone assumes it's a scam so i wouldn't recommend trying to sell those products. Classified traffic is most effective with the health and pet niche in my experience

      Really?

Have you spent some time on Backpage?
I started out swearing by Craigslist, but
now it's flipped. I use BP more than CL now!

I know that Backpage works because I
track the traffic coming from there.
Backpage supplies me with a fairly
decent source of visitors and prospects.

I get these results from the free ads, even.
The sponsored ones gets me even better
      results.

There are a lot of good intentions in this thread along with a lot of wrong information. First, an eBay classified ad (not the free regional classifieds) is $9.95 and runs for 30 days. You get almost unlimited images and you are allowed links that point outside eBay.

You can do a couple of things with a classified ad. You can sell your stuff directly from the ad just like a buy it now listing. Classified ads appear alongside auction and buy it now listings. Most buyers won't even notice it's a classified.

The real beauty of these ads is that you can drive tons of traffic to your offers (off eBay) and make sales that way. If you're looking to market ebooks or affiliate offers it would be best, in my opinion, to create an excellent classified ad with a killer title and then have some great copy in the ad with links pointing to your landing or sales page. Think of it as a pre-sales page.

Here's some info straight from the horse's mouth: Fees for Classified Ads Good luck.

Many of your efforts to make it a great classified
ad on eBay (or any other site for that matter) would
be futile if you do not focus on a stellar ad headline.

    Don't forget.

At least 65% of your energy should be spent on
    your classified ad headline.
