How to start flipping domains?

Hello and Merry Christmas everyone,

I'm interested in getting started in domain flipping, but I don't know where to start. I've purchased a few courses about it in the past, but I haven't had any success with them. What's the best way to start flipping domains and how can I turn this into a long-term business?

Thanks

Flippa is the place to flip sites.

To start, you need to build domains obviously. Buy domains and start building them until they are profitable and sell for profit. To start just learn from courses (most of them have years of flipping sites).

You don't necessarily need to build up the sites if you don't want to. Look at Flippa, there are PLENTY of domains for sale. While it may add value to build the site, you don't HAVE to if you don't want to be bothered with building a site. If you want to focus and just buying and selling domains, that is possible (and profitable.) You just need to domain and keyword research. See what's popular and buy domains with popular keywords in them. You also want to make sure that the domain is short and catchy. Also, .com domains bring in the most dough. Hope that helps a lil bud. Have a happy holiday!

Search the forum for Gene Pimental, flip domains, etc. There's a ton of info here.

You would really have to be lucky to find a good domain at a cheap price and then just resell it without adding any value. Most all of those premium domains are all taken and the owners ask crazy high prices.

I think the best way is to find a good brandable short domain name that includes 1 seo keyword and 1 post/pre fix word that makes it sound cool and unique.

Then install wordpress with a decent logo/theme, add content, get some traffic and revenue, and then sell it in 3-6 months.

My first domain i flipped, i bought it and built a website to it and started ranking it and getting a traffic. Even made a couple of small sales and then decided to sell it and made a huge profit.

There are a lot of ebooks about this. Not sure if you've read them, but that is one way to start.

Keep a daily eye on https://www.domaining.com/ as there is where the most notable domainer bloggers have their posts.

https://www.namepros.com/ and https://www.dnforum.com/ are the forums where the flippers hangout.

Most importantly, I'd spend a lot of time viewing the videos on DomainSherpa: The Domain Name Authority. Quite an education and it will help you get an idea of what constitutes a good domain name.

Lastly, I couldn't in good conscience recommend domain flipping to anyone. It's what they used to call in the old days 'a mug's game.' I would, however, suggest that if you only want to hold domains for a short period of time, avoid other domainers and try to sell retail to end users with small businesses. These often can involve GEO names like, say, Pasadenatailor.com. You will find out in due course if the name has value and you can opt out of renewing next time around.

Best bet is to do due diligence and buy quality names to hold for the long term. That is where most of the money is made in the domain name broker sector.

      Happy Holidays. Hope this helps.

Wouldn't it be better and less bothersome to create your own product and work on a more concrete business than flipping domains? Seems like flipping domains is mainly about luck of finding a good domain and for people who already have a lot of capital.

I bet that few people here mentioned Flippa already.
but there is a few great alternatives like digitalpoint or blackhatworld.
First you need to provide all relevant and most important informations to be able to sell and do some research about prices and trends before selling to be able sell for accteptable price

Building up domains is very profitable if you know your way. This website Top Ten Of Everything In The World does not have details about that, but I will suggest some ebooks to read for better grasp where flipping domains is concerned.
