Do you know of any conversion-based WordPress themes?

I'm in search of a WordPress blog theme that has been tested and proven to convert. (Convert on things like opt-ins, social sharing, subscriptions, etc). Do any of you happen to know of any?

(I'm familiar with Thrive Themes, but I believe they cost $240 per year and I was hoping to find something less expensive).

    I hate to break it to you, James, but it isn't the theme that converts. It's the content you hang on that theme.

      Hey John ,great advise ,

      To me the OP sounds as if ,you just install All in one seo plugin and you will land on the first page of google ,If he believes in that ,there is no chance really for getting the page 1 ranking ...

      Same goes with the website ,if your content is not good forget about conversions .It is as simple as that

      Having said that there are good themes which will make your task easier ,You just need to find it ...

      Currently i am using prostyler evo and it is very good

      You are kind of right but you can not deny that design has a lot to do with conversion rates. You would have to be a fool to believe this.

      There are a lot of themes out there designed for different conversions.

      Here are a few that I can recall from the top of my head.

      Socrates (They just released a new version its very good and finally responsive)
      Bluesense (you may have trouble finding this but it's out there)
      Thesis (you can customise this extremly well if you know coding and stuff)
      Azon Theme (for amazon)

        I'll agree that design can influence conversion rates, but I'm not sure I can go all the way to "has a lot to do" with them.

        I do know that a "bad" design will cripple conversions no matter how good the offer or copy, mostly because people don't get the chance to see what's on offer.

        Once you weed those out, it becomes about the content and the offer. Hang a crappy offer out there and explain it badly, and I don't care what theme you use. You are not going to convert.

    Thrive is the best I've found. Worth the cost, at least it was when I bought it for $147 one-off.

    Just saw their pricing page again, $19 per month paid anually.... hmm. They raised it up lol, it's catching on.

      The problem with thrive is they are used by a lot of so called "guru" IMers that are earning commish promoting their product to people like you. Get it?

        The "problems" with Thrive products are these:

        a) Too many product updates:

        - 7 product updates on December;
        - 11 product updates on November;
        ...

        b) Too many conversion-oriented features added every month:

        - New Feature: One-Click signups (Signup Segues)
        - New Feature: Thrive Box opened by menu items
        - New Feature: Asset Delivery
        ...

        c) Fewer plugins installed, faster website

        d) Blog posts showing us how to use features

        and a lot more "problems"...

        It doesn't matter the tool if we don't take action, but it is always better to take action with the best tools - I think Thrive "Troika" (themes, leads plugin and content builder) is one of them.

        To OP, conversion-based themes and proven to convert themes are different things. I'm sure there is someone in the world converting with "Twenty Fifteen" theme despite the fact it isn't a conversion focused theme.

    Nope.

    Your content and call to action within that content is what will lead to conversions.

    Hell try a simple one column Wordpress theme.

    Offer great value and have a call to action inside the content.

        Ok don't PM me - less work for me.

        What you can do is ask the Professor to show you what one of his good looking conversion pages look like...I'm curious also as I'd like to add some value to my skill set in that area.

        Not to mention I do contribute.

        Here, go to a little site called survival life. On the bottom of the site you'll find a product page. Check out some conversion pages.

        I use the keep it simple stupid mindset. You can build simple conversion pages on thesis. Outsource some design work and code the page yourself.

        This forum would be a great place if you didn't get attacked for every little post.

    The marketing strategies changes in minutes, so I believe you can't find a right theme unless you have a coder who could regulary adopt your website according the latest trends in user expierence field. Try to avoid annoying banners or jumping out forms, because it doesn't work well anymore.

    You can check out the WP themes created by the MyThemeShop guys. I have used their theme before and they seem to offer great value for the price.

    Just keep in mind that, although the theme might boost conversions, but it all comes down to the content on your website.

      Thrive Themes do specialise in 'conversion-based' themes, and do so in a couple ways:

      1. In many of their themes/landing pages they lay out a fill-in-the-blank template. They'll tell you where to put your description of the problem, the benefits, how to do testimonials, etc. I have to say that they do a very good job of it. Take a look at this example.

      2. They provide a front-end content builder for rapid development and easy testing. The modules that come out of the box, like a guarantee or pricing section, are actually well designed.

      I agree with John McCabe and others who say that the design of the website will only take you so far; you need a profound understanding of your audience, a resolve to work on your copy skills, and a solid grasp of persuasive design. And then comes the testing of all the other factors - the headline, colours, images, layout, autoresponder open rates, etc.

      But while no size fits all, something like Thrive can cut down on your time in developing a decent baseline landing page. If you're lacking in design and conversion know-how, then I'd recommend going with that, getting something up, and build some initial data while you develop your skills.

    Personally I would get some paid theme that looks beautiful and professional and use the Visual Composer Plugin. This way you can drag-and-drop-build your website and build a template that will convert best for your audience and suits your content well. It's very intuitive I think, but I can imagine that it might take too much time, that is something you have to decide for yourself.
    I have to agree though that the theme will only be part of the succes, quality content is the most important factor!

      Here is my recommendation

      Use the thesis framework with the marketers delight skin.

      This skin allows for future customization. Thesis makes it easy to edit and design from the css tab (DIY style). When your site gains traction, you can hire your own designer or you can simply hire one who is familiar with the thesis framework.

      I love thesis specifically for the fact that they are awesome on the support forums. If you have a problem you can log in and drop some questions. Some of the themes out there offer support that is slow and sometimes unresponsive. Not on thesis!

      When it comes to email opt-in functionality, marketers delight makes it easy. Put your email forms exactly where you want them - unlike many other themes that make you drop them in on the widget. With thesis, you can literally put them anywhere you want with ease.

      For site speed (which is super important), thesis is one of the fastest - if not the fastest.

      For SEO, you really won't need yoast. Thesis is built with SEO forms to just drop in your tags. There's even an analytics form that makes it easy to install your analytics.

      Most people like studio press as there is less of a learning curve, I happen to always use thesis and will continue.

      I forgot to mention the lead pages. The skin comes with them or you can DIY/Hire someone from the thesis community to do yours for you.
