I work in a very specialised niche profession. Or at least I did and now I teach the profession at university.

I was thinking a good niche would be to target school or university students that are considering this area as a profession, but don't know enough about it. I could potentially create my own products around this. Two problems I see are as follows:

I. In some sense I would be competing with the professional body for this industry.
Ii. There aren't going to be click bank products etc available hence I will be relying on my own product creation.

Any thoughts guys?

Just about any niche can be good if you approach it properly.

The fact that you know the niche well is a plus. If you will be selling your own product that is also a plus. If it seems like it can work you may be able to get affiliates to sell it for you as well. Best of luck to you!

There is absolutely nothing wrong with creating your own products and that should not hold you back. Regarding the professional body, you should be fine as long as you don't try to imitate them.

Use the fact that you are a human being and tell your story. Your story makes you unique and will appeal to a certain set of people.
