Website Structure Strategy

I want to set up a website for affiliate marketing. I'm thinking I'll have one domain with many pages, one for each product I choose to sell. Each page will be the landing/squeeze page I will drive traffic to, and will link only to the sales/ordering page. I'm thinking I can set up a Bit.ly URL for each product page. I'll use the "home" page just for organizing my product pages, and that page will be private (only I will have access). Does this structure strategy make sense, or is there a better way to set up lots of landing pages, short of buying a different domain for each one?

I can see where you are going with this... But do realize that your strategy wont be effective with regards to getting traffic from search engines due to these pages being orphaned and your home page being private with keeping it out of sight...

But if you funnel traffic to it from other sources such as Youtube, FB, Pinterest and other web 2.0's then yeah for sure it can work - all of course depending how well you write your sales copy etc.

One other approach could be to create sub domains with creating mini review sites for each one... In addition you could try an alternative approach which is to create optin landing pages in return for a bonuses and from there use email marketing to promote products - or why not do both and take a combined approach ;-)

Use something like prettylinks instead of bit.ly Link shortener url's look crappy and many do not like them as they look like spam.

Create pages, don't list them on your homepage and don't make them private as well, use pretty links as said by @agmccall. Let each page be well optimized for your review as you will be sending traffic directly to those pages, as long as the pages are "well" optimized, you should be fine.

    Hi,
    cool idea!

This really is a cool idea. I would do it! You also save on money like this and also time (for me atleast). You just gotta have a excellent domain name that can represent all the product you are promoting.

    Goodluck to you!

I would link to the content from the homepage. Lots of people will go to the site root to check it out more.
