    Start with this:

Who is your target market and what problem will you be solving? Build out from that. Don't overthink it. Find a specific problem and find a way to fix it. If your market wants an app, build that. If they need a Wordpress plugin build that.

I wouldn't do both. Start with one project and finish that. Iterate on the one project, which may include other marketplaces like iOS, publishing a premium plugin on Envato etc.

Personally I've had a lot more success with creating utilities vs discretionary products like games.

    Hi,
    cool ideas!

I would recommend you to make android apps. This is because you will have a much larger audience in my opinion, but this all depends on what you are planning to make it on. If you are just looking to make money in general and you don't have an idea, I would recommend you to make android apps. That is my opinion.

    Goodluck dude!

The programming languages you just listed sound more like you would be a better fit for WordPress plugins. I'd try that first, check if it's fun and profitable, if it's not and you really tried, switch to Apps.

Try both and see which one is more profitable. I'm sure you have the time and money for testing. A BIG hit would mean that all the testing and tracking was worth it.

It depends on your idea and skills in these two ventures

Test both and you will see some results and then put all your effort into more successful venture from these two.

No one can say this or this is more promising because it highly depends from your skills and ideas for that particular method.

Fair disclaimer: I know next to nothing about coding.

But I'd think about going with a Wordpress plugin because of the demand. Wikipedia says that around a quarter of the top 10m websites are powered by Wordpress. Think about all the webmasters running businesses out there and striving to make more money.

If you can create a plugin that we want, we will buy it. We'll pay good money for it, and we will support you year after year.

Case in point: I spent months looking around for a really great LMS (learning management system) plugin. Although there are some big players out there, such as WP Courseware and LearnDash and ZippyCourses, I couldn't find one with sufficient styling options. So in the end I had to create custom menus myself while using the guts of WP Courseware.

Figure out what Wordpress webmasters/marketers want. Build the plugin. Be committed to making it the best it can possibly be. Announce its release on all blogs reviewing that type of plugin. Launch a WSO. Profit big time.
