Help!!! I'm a Newbie, What Do I Do?

I find that producing fantastic content and then monetizing the content with ads is by far the best income-generating method.

The biggest plus is that it's truly Set-and-Forget...

Is this really the best thing since sliced bread?

I find that everything else requires some kind of work or effort...

I like the method you put forth.

Create valuable content that really helps people solve a particular problem.
Let that be your focus (not the money), work hard, connect with more people, and before you know it, one day, the money is coming in.

I think I see what the OP is saying. For many of us, writing decent content is just second nature. It's effortless in a way... hence the assertion of it not being hard work.

If you love it and truly are gifted in it then I understand this observation.
( But still work involved , it's just that you enjoy it )

  • Work hard sell hard and you will make money. Don't think you can do nothing and make money.

To illustrate this I saw a video on a guy who claims to be lazy and makes tons of money with the lazy method but you can tell there is tons of work involved in the video and the sales funnel. So he was lying about being lazy because he know that is what people want.

Have you succeeded with this? Have you done some "set and forget" marketing this way?

If so, then you've done work.

It may not have felt like it. But for the average newbie, it's more than they would do...or feel capable of doing.

It all takes work. Optimizing to get the best returns. What I like about building a list is I am leveraging my marketing efforts. I send an email and have sales within hours sometimes minutes coming in. You can't beat that...

Psst (whispering). As others have said, even "set it and forget it" involves work. If it's done right and you want it to last and pay off. For example ...

Set it and forget it requires ...
      • Initial Research.
      • Setting it up.
      • Testing it.
      • Evaluating the results.
      • Tweaking (but not twerking)
      And
      • Maintenance (maintaining/updating).
You're right the model you mentioned is one of the best things since sliced bread ... on paper. But there's also a lot of dead bodies on that road. Why? Because it's also one of the riskiest, most competitive and biggest roads to failure for most Internet Marketers (who think) it's a no-brainer or easy, set-it and forget it income. Sorry, just being real.

Honestly, I don't believe this is the *easiest* way to make money. To be a bit more honest making money online is never really easy. But, what I would highly recommend you to check out is affiliate marketing.

Basically, you decide on your niche (topic). You then proceed by signing up with an affiliate network where you there then grab your affiliate links. Now, you do what is called promoting. This is a huge field. There are so many ways to promote your link. BTW this is also where traffic comes in. If someone buys a product through your link you make a commission.

I am pretty sure you already knew about all of the above stated. Anyways, I assume you have a website where you post content meaning you can add in your affiliate links for example when making a review about something.

If you're really excellent at something you could try providing services on Fiverr or some other Freelancing website......

Anyways, I hope I could help you a bit.

I have to say that if you don't work at Marketing You Won't Get Anywhere.

It does take some work! Once you get a good buyers list then you can relax a bit, but you still have to put forth good effort into driving traffic to your products, keep the relationships with your current list and maintain your buyers list.

Everything will take work, even producing quality content. It's not just enough to get the content, you need to make sure people see it as well!

Everything requires work, time and money. That is a good method, but you have to realize that there are tons of different techniques that have the capability of doing even better. For example, since you're writing high quality content, what if you SEO optimized that content then you can get organic traffic? Also, what if you use FB PPC to drive targeted traffic to it. If you have your own products or an affiliate, then it means you have the capability of creating sales. If ad money is all you're working on, then you're leaving a lot of money and opportunities on the table. It will take work but it will be worth it. If you're not building a list at the moment, then what you're experiencing is short term.

The truth is, the web is filled with opportunities. Whether you're writing content, recording videos, or simply designing. You have to ask yourself, how do I want to make money? what do I want to do? Like Nora Roberts once said, “if you do not step forward, you'll always be in the same place.” Just take the first step!
