Hi guys,

I am trying to set up some adwords and finding it very difficult to be profitable.

I want to advertise one of our raspberry ketone products, if I target the keyword "raspberry ketones" then it eats through the budget very quickly and gets no sales.

If I look for buying keywords like:

"buy raspberry ketones" they have minimal traffic (80 a month) and a lot higher CPC.

Is there any tips on how to be profitable here? Am I missing something?

Thanks

Laurence.

Unless you have a very big budget, I would not invest too much in general keywords, seeing as it will be very difficult to rank high without having to pay a high CPC. You should try using long tail keywords, so keywords that are very specific. These keywords tend to have a relatively low CPC and seeing as they are very specific, you can also reach exactly the audience that you want to reach if you use the proper keywords.
I have to admit that this is easier said than done, because in my experience finding the proper keywords can be tricky, but by adjusting and testing you should be able to find keywords that work well for you.

    Hope it helps!

      Hi, thanks for the response.

This is the problem I am having when I look at the longer tail keyword they seem to be an even higher CPC. With only 80 searches a month and over £1.30 CPC.

Does anyone know what keywords I should be targeting around Raspberry Ketones? I can only think of "buy raspberry ketones" "where to buy..."

I can't think of any long tail buying keywords in this area.

      Does anyone have any ideas?

      Thanks

There is a lot of ad fraud going on. Keep your eyes open. Do clicks come at 3 am in the morning. That could be a bad sign. I try to create my own traffic using twitter hash tags and you tube mini movies.

Thanks for that article. Yahoo is not alone as the article states. The fraud along with poorer ad management/placement/analytics by Google, Bing and others is a concern. It just means we have to watch even more closely to make sure our paid advertising is actually getting what we paid for.

advertising in general is alot of testing. Check out what works by how much money you earn vs. how much you put into it. All about the statistics.
