Hi there,

I'd just like to ask the WF community what's the number one thing you struggled with in your online business? It could be when starting out or something you experienced along the journey.

How did you solve your issue?

I believe the answers in this thread could help a lot of people.

    Hi,
    I believe the biggest problem is traffic. This though only at the beginning. Later you get the hang of it and then it's not so hard anymore.

    It is kinda like the first Clickbank sale

    I find it interesting...

    As soon as I read the post it took me to
    a flashback when I started of new...

    The first thing I totally struggled with to build
    a website or blog on word-press....

    I never done a website before and was a
    complete newbie...

    It took me 2 days to figure out the basic of
    post and pages...

    The worst I have to say was trying to figure
    out how to put a comment box under the first
    ever blog I did...

    When I did figure out how to enable a comment
    box the worst was I had it set on people have to
    register to comment...

    Every time I go back thinking about it as not being
    a technical guy and a complete newbie,

    I would say that was a complete nightmare for me....

    I actually look back at it and laugh sometime thinking
    how easy it is and I struggled so badly with it but I
    have to say its one of those things right....

      I struggled with information overload. With so many products and services coming out, it was kind of hard to move forward with my own business because I was so busy looking at the next "shiny object". I advise not to get caught up in all of the so called gurus new products. Focus more on sales and marketing! If you hear about a product or service that may expand your marketing efforts, then test one product or service at a time.

        I spent thousands of dollars on some of the so called "well-known gurus". It lead me no where. I buy their training course and they end it before you can even understand so that they can use your confusion to get you to buy the so called "continuation" or improvement of the current course you own. It's a pattern that's costing people so much money.

        For me, that ended when I found the right mentor with the right heart who only told things as it is. Instantly within a week of leaving my old company, things changed. lol Crazy.

        There's so much info out there today. We gotta watch who we listen to.

      My tip, if you know your audience well, then provide value around that. For example, if your audience is in the health and fitness niche, then you can make your followups centered around like a week's worth of free video training.

      What I do is I just send them a week's worth of value daily (videos). Then I mix it up with selling and blog posts. :-) Works for me.

      Just think of how you can best deliver value. Think of sales as secondary because when you become more valuable, sales will follow.

    Thanks for the responses guys. I'm sure you guys agree...looking back at the journey, it's pretty awesome. So far, everything you guys shared I can def relate to. Traffic being the biggest of my struggles early on.

    Lack of focus, and waste time on backlinking. All these can be done using productivity tools like evernote, and gsa ser, etc.

      When I started I really was looking for a method to start making money quickly in which I don't have to bring the traffic myself, I wanted cash quickly. Took me a while to figure this out but I finally found it.

      Boy this was a serious issue for me as well when I was starting out. I had to go old school and use post it notes all over my work area. lol

    Hi,



    The No.1 hurdle in tackling IM business is getting customers onboard.

    It is difficult to connect with people on an emotional level, especially when both of you present online.

    Getting them trust you is the most difficult part.

    Once they do, you have a smooth sail in cracking sales for the rest of your life.

    The main thing I struggled with was actually getting the ball rolling in the first place.

    It's so easy to spend all day reading and watching videos but unless you're actually taking action you're getting no where...

    Even with that, comes the procrastination involved in choosing a direction to go in... Do I focus on FB ads? Do I focus on building a list? Do I develop my own product?

    I cannot stress enough how important it is to just pick a path and stay upon it until you've mastered it. Take at least small steps every day or you'll never get to the end of the path. Hint: that's where the money is

      Some of the technical stuff. Just not a huge "techie". I solved it by just doing it. Plain and simple as that. Painful but necessary if I wanted to keep moving forward

      Lol Sounds like myself when starting out. I used to consider going through trainings as working and being productive. Training and working...2 very different things.

        Very much so!

        It goes without saying that knowledge is power, and writing HTML or sales copy isn't something we're born able to do (well some have a gift with sales but you get my point), so you do need to learn these things... However, watching countless videos on traffic strategies and such without actually taking any kind of action gets you nowhere.

        This is possibly the most important thing I think people starting out need to understand...

        Buying a variety of courses and ebooks does not make you a internet marketer, in the same way that buying a fishing reel and a box of lures does not make you a fisherman...

    Traffic... getting people's attention... sales. As with all new business.

    Though some may have found technical parts difficult when starting out, there are enough resources to get that out of the way. Freelancers nowadays work very cheaply and offer results.

    Ultimately, it comes down to getting customers and selling.

    The #1 thing I've struggled with is being fully committed enough to actually start turning a decent profit, month to month. I have always been extremely busy with my full-time job and would dabble here and there in Net Marketing...I hadn't even created a Warrior Forum account even though I was regularly visiting here for well over a year. Anyways, I am now fully committed to making my IM goals become a reality by allocating AT LEAST a few hours to this seven days a week...Oh and I finally created my own WF account

    Getting people to do the work. Its amazing how so many people want to earn extra money but very few are willing to do what it takes. Everybody else jumps from one shiny object to the other hoping for the solution. I say to those people your better off saving your money and buying lottery tickets because anything worth achieving for takes work.

    i agree with lack of focus, we have many things to do and we have many things that unfocused us as well.. if you are focus, the biggest problem is conversions, traffic is really easy to get

    Depends on the business

    Although, I think that all forms of online business boil down to sticking with it.

    I just didn't think that i could actually make money online.

    Where i come from, we started off with original direct response marketing.... offline marketing where we do advertorials, direct mail, magazine advertising, classified ads, and NO internet.

    I didn't make a killing with my offline business. I've made so much more money with my online business than all of my offline activities combined.

    With online marketing, i had no idea where to start, i never heard of the WarriorForum, and if i did hear about it, i wouldn't have joined anyway because of my ego. I didn't like the idea that i had to get advice from people who *think* they're smarter than me.
