It all depends ,You need to take few things into consideration

Most important of them all is ,What is the scope of your blog ? Can you continue to provide value to your visitors ,,,

You just cannot write articles just to increase the count ,

I have seen quite a few people who have 2 pages on their site, you can say that is a static site ,but it is very well targeted and they are doing really well

That really depends on your flexibility. If you are free anytime, think of an article and publish it right away ! The more articles you write, the more views you get.

Articles in the home business niche? It is probably going to take 1000's of them in my view. Just too much competition. I don't recommend you take this path. Look into paid ads.

Thanks. The niche site I'm developing at the moment is in the vinyl record market so will be writing reviews and collectors tips, looking after vinyl etc. I will also look at paid advertising down the track.

Good question! At this stage it's to start ranking higher so I can drive traffic to my site. I haven't set any goals for conversion or sales at this point.

What makes you think there is a limit to how many articles you can write per month?

Good question Tomas. I don't think there's a limit, but I was wondering if there was a minimum in order to increase chances of ranking higher. Though I know it comes down also to article quality and optimisation. Just starting out so lots of basic questions

    Hi,
interesting question! This definitely has many different responses I would guess.

Anyways, to answer your question: I believe you should be writing 2-3 articles a day to start of. This will help your site get ranked and *noticed* by Google. Google really loves quality content and therefore you will slowly climb the rankings till you are excellently ranked. You could also write a lot more articles or in fact a lot less. It really depends how long an article is.

Hope I could help you out! You can do it!
    Stay awesome!

There is no correct amount and it really comes down to quality over quantity. Don't just post articles for the sake of populating your site, make sure each article offers a lot of value.

I don't think there's a "magic number" but I would suggest to stay relatively active as long as your content is useful.

At least 5 but no more than 10 I guess. Why? Why need to have many articles if you can't even rank one? You should try more on promote it and optimize to seo friendly for the engine and interesting enough for your reader to like and share it.

As many as possible. Some will get read by search engine visitors, some will get read from your email subscribers, and some will get read by people who are in the publications you promote your articles to. It all depends on interest. But write and keep writing.

For the first month, I try to start with at least 10-20 articles, then have write (or schedule) 1 per day, after the month, 1 every other day.. but that's just me..

If you are aiming for 'quality' articles then you really shouldn't be trying to write more than one per day. Quality will always trump quantity.

If your also aiming for seo then you will need to write at least 1500 to 2000 word articles.

Can you publish a good article everyday? Then go for that. If that's too much then what about every three days?

John Chow is well known around these parts. He publishes daily.

Lastly...Make sure to 'promote' your content. Don't just publish and then sit back and wait for good ole Google. Google will give you love when you don't need it.

There is actually no certain amount of how many articles you need to provide. It is about how many you can provide. The important question is how much value you can give to the article you will be providing?

Well this actually depends on how flexible your schedule is, are you aiming for full time?
Also, what would be the scope of your Articles? I suggest you go for something trendy or articles that people are really looking into nowadays or something of your own interest but make it compelling that it will attract people to your website.

If your articles are placed strategically (ie online/offline publications which are read by your targeted audience), you don't really need many articles at all to quickly drive massive amounts of highly convertible traffic. One or two articles per week is generally far more than adequate.

Consider getting your articles published in niche-relevant ezines, newsletters, blogs, and offline magazines, newspapers, etc. For any given commercially viable niche, there are literally thousands and perhaps hundreds of thousands of publications with editors looking for quality content.

A couple of excellent resources I've always used for many years was The Directory of Ezines and Writers' Market, both of which provide specific article submission guidelines and editor contact information. And nowadays, almost all offline publications have online editions.

Ding, ding, ding! We have a winner.

You can optimize articles all you want, maybe even get the search ranking you covet so much, but if the human beings who click through don't find value in your article, they'll click right back out again.

I've said it before and I'll keep saying it until people are sick of hearing it.

In the ~18 years I've been online, I have never, ever had a spider or search bot buy anything from me.

So the correct answer to the OP's question is another question...

How many high quality, high value to human reader articles can you do?

It is dependent on your wish. If you want to increase your SEO level quickly, you need to write many article at a month. On the other hand if you think you will try it at a slow process, you can do also. Best of luck.

    Depends on your niche.

I can typically get a 50-page site to be pretty successful (e.g. rank well/make money) within 6-12 months assuming it's a medium-competition niche.

Anything that's super competitive, like IM, will take a ton of effort if you're relying on Google.

SEO and getting ranked takes more time than people think.

If you're just starting out, IMO you should create 2 GREAT articles that are the best pages on the subject on the Web. Brian Dean calls these "skyscraper pages" and others call them "pillar pages". It should take you a week or more to create this content.

Add another 8-10 articles that are pretty good.

For your skyscraper articles, at the top of the page include a few of the best links/resources listed on the page and call them something like "Best of the Best" or "Gold Medal Winning Resources". These should be based on not only quality, but social media "influencers" as well. You want to be able to make contact with influencers in your niche and tell them how much you like their content and included it as a "Best of the Best".

By complimenting them and including them as a "Best of the Best", hopefully they will tweet or post about your article, since people naturally like to promote stuff that makes them look good. And having the "best" content on a particular topic makes it even easier for them to recommend your article.

Also be sure to include some type of social content locker on the page with even more great content that people will need to share to get access to the bonus content. As the influencers share your content, their followers will come to your page and (hopefully) share your content too.

Be sure to include an email optin form as well as retargeting pixels so you can follow up with the people that do come to your pages.

This is over-simplified, but it's a good strategy to get you going. Use Google to research "how to contact influencers", etc. Spend your time and effort driving traffic to these two great articles. It's easier to promote great content than mediocre content.

    The best answer is always...

...as many as you can possibly post. If you can post at least 1 SEO optimized high quality post daily, then in as little as 60-90 days you will get results. As long as you're consistent with this, it just can't go wrong.

It's best to not think of how many you'll need to post because that will slow you down. You'll just keep thinking of the number you need to reach and honestly, it varies for everyone. It all depends on the quality and consistency of your work.

For me though, it's always best to practice creating content daily to the point where it becomes a habit because content marketing is pretty much like real estate. The blogs you publish...you own. The more...the higher the quality, the better for you.

I would aim for at least one article a week. Then market that article through social media channels to help boost your article's reach and your overall site traffic. You can also use those social media channels to help sell any products or ebooks you are looking at promoting, as well.

There isn`t a fixed number for this. You write exactly how many articles you need in order to cover all the topics of your niche.

Hey! Its good to hear that you write articles for your site but remember an article must be informative and catchy. If you are writing as many articles as you can then you should use it for making Web2.0 but if you are writing a lengthy articles then it will be treated as blogs and it should be updates twice a week.

From now a length blogs doesn't attracts the people at all. People needs something new and interesting and must focus on that. Make your blog interesting so that viewers can stick on it for long time and get some useful info from it. Thanks
