I don't speak from experience here (as I don't currently have a sig) but I wouldn't see any reason why forum marketing wouldn't be relevant anymore.

The main thing you need to take in to account is that like many things in life, nothing comes for free, including forum traffic...

What I mean by that, is that in order for people to click your sig, you will need to part with valuable information, advice, content, etc, in order for people to think "hmm, this guy knows what he's talking about, and his sig looks interesting, let's take a butchers at what he has to offer". You catch my drift?

People will not be blindly clicking your sig if you do not give them reason to.

    Hope this was helpful!

I am in the exact same boat as you my friend...looking for traffic under every stone is a good start lol. A signature is a great way to build a presence and that is something that I still need to do here for my own WF account.

I am a long time lurker here but from my experience in other forums, if you are an active poster offering helpful/relevant information, nothing but good will happen from that.

If they're relevant, consider promoting your posts here to your subscriber lists, social media followers, webinars, and even offline contacts. I have found this method to be far more effective than a "sig".

Most forums do frown on such self-serving ads, but sharing your contributions with links from forums will add substance to your other promotional venues.

Most of the people keep aloof from this signature, if he does not need your service. On the other hand most of the people will click your signature, if he is in needed your service. So it is a plus point for you. On the flip side it will increase your back link which may increase your site page rank & traffic also. Thanks

So basically if you give some people good content they will trust you on the forum and you can promote your site or cpa offer ect.

Because I wanted to have referral on some certain site( if you got more referral the more money you will make) but I guess people won't just stop at my post and said ''I don't know this guy but I will be is referral''.

Promoting your business through your profile or signature in forum is good idea but always remember that making 100 poorly written forum posts is less powerful than writing only 1 good quality forum post.

    Yes, they do. Everyday.

Yes people do click the signature and it doesn't mean you should just randomly post everywhere useless comments. People WILL click on your signature if they see that you know your stuff and you're actually providing value with your comment. No one clicks on sigs with one liner comments.

The person with the most value is always the one people look out for. If you want forum traffic, then you need to provide value in your comments.

Not sure about the CPA part and I would not go signature spamming by that I mean starting a thread just to show the signature as that is the fastest way to get it taken off you.

I look at the sigs myself all the time and it does get some great traffic, there may not be the amount we had about 1yr ago but still good

Do YOU still click on other peoples sig? I agree with what TheZafraGroup said. I believe a forum is a community of people with similar interests. If you can provide insightful comments and recommendations, I can't think of a reason why some one wouldn't listen to what you have to say and/or click on your sig. Give and you shall receive

Work only if you assure people from your comments that you have solution to their problem.
