How can he track my sales for commissions

INTERNET MARKETING

I am going to sell a friends product, but he knows nothing about internet marketing. I told him that I can sell for him, so I had a site made for me to sell his stuff. He is selling a book of his photography. He's a professional photographer for a bodybuilding mag.

He needs to be able to track my sales. I am getting a commission for every sale off my site. What kind of service/ or thing should we use?

He doesn't want me to just put up my PayPal button because he won't be able to track it, enless I give him my Paypal info and let him go in there to make sure of everything.

There must be an easy way for people to buy through a link on my site and then he gets the money, but tracks it so I get paid later on.

To make it simple, why don't you get a special promo/discount code to be used for your referrals. For example, have the product listed on his website for $900,000 but promote the product on your site as "enter this promo code to get $100,000 off".

This would probably be simpler than doing an affiliate system.

Use Prosper202 or Tracking202 to track the traffic and have a firing pixel on the page to which the buyer is directed after the sale on PayPal from your site.

You can learn about firing pixels on the Tracking202 site. It's free and I have no affiliation other than being a satisfied user/customer.

  You could always put the product on clickbank, they will track your sales for you. You could also set up an affiliate page with clickbank and have other people selling that product for a % of commision.

You should purchase the $7 script for this site..

It's a simple installation and will benefit him and you... using this script will allow you to become his affiliate directly from the site..

Snyder the best answers are actually to use clickbank, paydotcom or the $7 script and the pixel firing methods. It seems you really don't want to be having someone in your paypal account and also you don't want to go through the trouble of losing commissions through a bad tracking system (or ruining the deal becuase of bad tracking.) If you start to get a significant amount of sales you will need an automated affiliate program anyway.

Heck if you are going to get into internet marketing of your own products or JV projects like you are doing you will need a automated affiliate program solution then as well so why not just get serious about it now? ;-)
