Default have I got this right re article maarketing please?

Ok forgive the possibly blonde question, but....

When you write an article, lets say you give it to EZA, and they accept it. SO it gets posted on their site, and for a short (very short) while it may appear on their front page.

BUT - does the article (if you optimize it correctly) ALSO appear on the Google Results pages (for your particular keywords?)

I originally thought an article ONLY would appear in EZA - and that that in itself was great - as you could have a backlink to your site. And the only other place it woudl appear could be if a webmaster saw it and put it on their site.

I didn't even realize that Google may rank your article too. Is that correct?

SO - if this is right - would I be correct in saying, that a well written article could end up in three places:

1. EZA
2. On the search results pages of Google
3. Someone else's site/blog if they deem it good enough.

Sorry to ask what may seem like a dumb question,

Jenn xx

Yup, you got it right...

the only thing wrong is that you misspelled marketing in your thread title... lol

Just HAD to point that out to you before the wombat police get to ya~!
You can click edit > then click go advanced > update your title there.

On a side note, if you create backlinks to your EZA article, it will rank higher on Google.

A good way to do this free and quickly is by using the web 2.0 social sites that google already has love for, like blogspot, digg, wordpress.com, twitter, facebook, delicious, etc, etc, etc, you get the point... add the link to your EZA article(s) to these sites, and google will give you some SERP love back.

Jenn:

The answers are --
1. Definitely. A lot more people use EZA to search for info than most of us realize.
2. It might depending on the competition for the keywords. Eg if someone targeted the same keyword as you did but built backlinks to the article itself, yours might not be able to compete and hence appear in Google.
3. Yes, possibly

This sig under construction...

Also make sure that your primary keyword is in the title of your article. And if you can repeat it twice like.... Xbox Repair Kit - Get the best Xbox Repair Kit know to Man!

Also include the keyword about twice in a 500 word article....

Then smack some backlinks on it and your good to go!

Hi Jenn,

Don't worry about asking 'blonde' questions - there are probably many others thinking the same thing.

There are several answers to your question.

The first one is yes - Google will rank it.

The second one is EZA uses RSS to syndicate all content on their site.

This means that any other site pulling from these feeds will also display your article.

EZA have their own network of sites but many website owners pull their content into their site/blog using this exact same feed.

You can see the various feeds at EzineArticles RSS Feeds By Niche - Subscribe Via RSS To Your Favorite Category Feeds

So - if you play your cards right (Maybe I'm letting a cat out of the bag here) - you can capitalise on people using auto-blogging strategies to have them display your articles for you.

(I've had one article get 100,000 reads in the first week by doing this)

The other useful aspect to that is that you can also feed your article onto your site(s) in the same way.

There are other cool things like this, but you get the idea - yes other people will see your article and Google will see it and rank it accordingly.

Andy

Actually the most realistic reply to your questions are:

1. Maybe
2. Yes
3. Maybe

It's getting tougher and tougher to get articles accepted at ezinearaticles. So long as the article is well written with good grammar and pretty flawless spelling you should be okay as far as clearing that hurdle.

If you clear the first hurdle, your article will most likely get indexed into the search engines. However, if your article is on page 1,000 it really may as well not even be indexed in the search engines at all.

Your goal is to try and rank your article on the first page of the search engines. That's only going to happen if you pick your keyword phrase carefully (At least if you're ONLY relying on ezinearticles.) The more people in the first 10 have optimized for that keyword phrase the less likely you are to rank for it. As others suggested, if you put some backlinks to your article you can rank for some competitive keyword phrases.

Lastly, it depends. If your article is in a widely popular appeal that means there's probably a lot of other articles like it already. Therefore, the competition for content in that niche is pretty fierce so it's hard to say if your article will be picked up. On the other hand, if your niche is one that's really specialized the competition won't be as fierce as far as content, but then you only have a limited number of sites that deal with that niche anyway.

As someone else said, a lot of people have blogs set up that post the rss feed of ezinearticles, so any new article in the niche they cover usually gets posted. It's kind of a crap shoot as far as if your article gets picked up by another site or not.

One thing about Ezine Articles is that you need to not choose it depending on the niche.

Personally I'd do some good research into what's ranking and what's not on ezine articles before I ever assume it will rank.

If I know it wont rank then I'll use some ninja tactics to try and get it read by as many general ezine article readers as possible by selecting specific categories and adding a catchy title.. i.e 4 Secrets to Doing Such and Such.

I hope this tip helps you understand the ranking part.

Best Wishes
Mark.

Boys this really is super helpful, really, thank you.

Could I quickly please ask for a bit more of a detailed explanation on something a few have said here.

I note a few saying

Quote:
' if you put some backlinks to your article you can rank for some competitive keyword phrases.'
I thought posting the article - was what made the article a backlink? Have I got that wrong? (I guess I have)

If I have - could someone give me an example please of what 'putting some backlinks' in my article actually looks like.

Thank you so much again for your time,

Jenn x x
