I know I am still a newbie and learning everyday I have found recently how to make it easier to come up with the topics of an ebook for niches. I have been working on several projects lately that are targeted towards certian niches in the health/illness area. I was having a hard time with the confidence of what to put in a ebook and what people would actual want to read about. While doing reasearch for keywords and trying to find topics that high intrest with low competition I noticed something that might be helpful to others. Using seo book keyword tool I was noticing that after entering a topic for search it basically would outline what your ebook should cover. For example if you enter in pregnancy in the keyword tool it will come up with a list of long tail keywords and its daily total searches for each. What I found that had around 1000 searches a day or more was.. pregnancy pregnancy stages day by day pregnancy pregnancy week by week pregnancy first stages ectopic pregnancy online pregnancy test serious pregnancy complications pregnancy calander pregnancy symptoms signs of pregnancy chinese pregnancy calender And the list goes on but you can find topics to discuss and doing a little reasearch you can come up with a nice little ebook that you can sell for $7. I am finding that you set the prices lower people are more likely to grab it and you can put items in you ebook that gives you affiliate sales etc. After you do some research and complete your ebook you can make a generic sales page. Once your done doing that or having it done for you just target the long tailed keywords that have the most traffic and least competition and start writing articles for each keyword and using the keyword in the title. I did this with one of my first products and it was a success. I kept hearing on here how you have to make your own product to really do well. I was nervous about it cause I didnt know what to expect from the buyers but all went well and I made some great extra income. At least the wife is finally happy that I have some results after spending endless hours on the computer ![]() Anyway this may be basic for most of you but thought it might be something a newbie could use to help lead them in the right direction on creating a product. You just have to find what people are searching for and the rest is easy. The content is already on the web all you have to do is put it in your own words for the topics your targeting. Jason |

Great idea Jason, "After you do some research and complete your ebook you can make a generic sales page." Can you elaborate a little more on the generic sales page? Did you just use a template? How many words roughly? "I did this with one of my first products and it was a success." How long was the e-book Jason? just curious what $7 customers would expect. |

So I did some keyword research and was going through some of the things that WSO offers have tought me to do. While I was using Seo Book Keyword tool I noticed it pretty much outlined what I needed to cover in a ebook for that subject. I just went down the list and found the keywords that had good daily searches and put together a table of contents so to speak. After that I went on a hunt for some PLR products that where in this niche already. I was able to find a really good one that had a lot of the topics that I was looking for. With the PLR and doing some research on google for each topic/keyword I came up with the content. If you site down and do it and dont take breaks or anything you can do this faster than you think. I had my brother make me some graphics with photoshop. He has a day job working for a major printing company but he was nice enough to help me out I then created my sales page.I meant generic because I just kinda used a PLR sales page and followed its layout and plugged my graphics into or my brother did. I just added the content and did the coding for the buttons etc. It was pretty plain jane but worked for this one. Once I was done and had it created I promoted it using articles targeting the long tailed keywords and ranking in google pretty well. The idea is to find keywords with high search amounts and low competition. And there is a lot out there you just need to find them. I at first had my product up for 17 dollars saying it was a one time sale that after 30 where gone it was going up. That did do to well so I changed it trying to see what worked better. I lowered it to 7 after reading on a blog that I follow that 7 dollar products sell better than the higher ones with certian products. Well after I did that I starting seeing sales come in. I guess people are not affraid to spend 7 bucks on something. Anyway I have sold over 800 copies or so. I havent checked the full amount but around there and I maybe spend 7 days on it. I work a full time job so in the afternoons and then maybe a full day on the weekend. THis was my first so it took longer than it is taking me on my next project this time. I just hope it wasnt beginners luck lol. Anyway that is pretty much it I know its vague but thats what I did ![]() Jason

Jason, thanks for your detailed post - I think it will help others to overcome their fear of sitting down for weeks and weeks on creating a product. If this is such a big seller, why not promote it via your signature? |

I guess I dont cause I am affraid they will see what I am promoting and give me compettion. This is a marketing forum and anyone who finds a niche that is hot is going to give it a go. I like my rankings in google right now hehePlus it has nothing to do with internet marketing and didnt see much traffic or sales coming from here. I could be wrong though. Jason

Its been up for two months now so its had some time to get sales going. Ezinearticles is awsome if you do your keyword research you can rank well and reap the rewards. I also did this promoting some affiliate stuff and I did well with sales just using blogger and free wordpress as salespages. You can really get good traffic from article writing and once you have enough cash you just have someone do it for you they way you want and just work on your next product. I think there is a WSO that is still running that is 1 Dollar right now. It is pretty good for the price and talks a little about how you can benefit from SE traffic. Jason

Hi Jason Well done on your success. If you're writing another ebook in the same niche, or any other for that matter, here's another tip. Once you have your long tail keywords and decided on your topic go to Amazon and look at the best selling books in that niche. With some books you can get a sneak preview inside the book at the list of contents. I can't remember exactly how it's done but I think it self explanatory when you get there. That will give you an idea of what contents to cover, titles to use, price of book, number of pages etc. It's a good tool to use for research and sometimes overlooked. You also get some good ideas on topics to use for articles. Best wishes Mary |
