Are you freaking kidding me?

Check out this article recently posted on FoxNews.com about "Jobs that will leave you friendless"...must have been a very slow news day, and worse, whoever the blithering idiot is who wrote it must not have done their research, as they lump "search engine optimizer" in with scammers, spammers, and ringtone sellers...lol

I'm quite sure that FoxNews' internal SEO/marketing team were real proud of that one.

What more could you expect from Foxnews:rolleyes:. I've never liked them as their one sided agenda is clearly reflected from their programs especially that of Bill O'Reilly .

You forget why theyre doing this.
Murdoch said he was going to start charging for sites once a revenue model could be built and sustained. Apparently Fox thinks you have to discredit your competition to do this. Competition being people who make money on the internet and is not Murdoch. Cause the funny thing is Fox employs all of those methods....and some.

I hear what you're saying sahi, but regardless of what you think politically about them (I happen to enjoy most Fox News programs), this article contains a lot of misinformation that was written by someone who obviously doesn't understand much in the way of online marketing.

Lumping all SEO's together is outrageous and just plain idiotic!

Oh goodness! I better get my sites delisted becaused I used seo techniques on them so I must be a spammer. Silly bast**ds!

In fact I used my keyword in my title tags so no one should ever trust me again - I am a scammer and I feel very silly about that!

That is very funny... placing search engine optimizers in the same category as an "email spammer" or "website spammer"

I might have been offended by it but I don't think whoever wrote it even knows what a search engine optimizer does.

I agree with everyone, but I also wanted to point out the seriousness of this article. I highly encourage ANY Warrior that provides SEO/SEM or any online marketing services to clients to email fox news right now and express your concern about the misinformation.

    Why?

Because thousands of small business owners read this ****, and they're already confused, and now they're going to think you're a scam artist when you walk into their business and try to sell them SEO services!!!

I sent an email to: foxnewsonline@foxnews.com

Please take this seriously, as it impacts the entire online marketing community!!!!!!!!!

You better send an email to the AP too, as that's where they sourced much of their information.

In other words, you never watch Fox, you just hear what others who also don't watch say about it. I'm guessing MSNBC is where you tune in to get a more balanced point of view, lol.

"Job-hunting? Think about becoming an e-mail spammer ... or a Web site spammer ... or a search engine optimizer. Here's a great opportunity to become part of a team of Web-savvy professionals who clog the Internet with unwanted ads and sell users' personal information to the highest bidder. Not only are these jobs legal, they can be downright lucrative."
      Email spamming is LEGAL???

"The Better Business Bureau consistently warns consumers to be weary of telemarketing scams."
We are definitely "weary" - but I think we should also be wary.

Whoever wrote this article needs to find another job. Maybe as an email spammer.

The guy that wrote that article doesn't know what he's talking about.

I agree with the guy above...if you do SEO you better send them a message to let them know how stupid they are.
