It all depends on where you got the list for one. And how the emails were collected. Were these people opting in to get info on internet marketing? How to loose weight fast?

If you know this and the emails came from a reliable source, send them a email with a review of a clickbank product targeted at the niche these people signed up for.

Be who you want to become, every second of every day. Make it true!

good point. If they aren't your own opt-ins, dont even THINK about using it.

Also, is it a targeted list (eg is it a list of people interested in cats, or a list of high net worth investors, or is it just a random list of emails). One has value. the other doesn't.

I don't think you will have much luck using a list you've been given for free, I've been offered similar lists and you can be sure you're not the only one with the list.

You can use the details legally the CAN-SPAM act details can be found at the link below

The CAN-SPAM Act: Requirements for Commercial Emailers

You'd have to setup your own mailing list software to manage the contact list as no webmail service like Hotmail or GMail are going to let you email 100,000 people for very long and a mailing list providers like AWeber are unlikely to let you import a list you've been given. You're ISP would probably cut you off too so the only option is to do it from your own domain. This is likely to be blacklisted before too long and your hosting/domain company might cut you off.

My advice is don't use this list but if you really want to email them. Create an email saying your personal details are being given away and give them some content about protecting their personal information. This might be your best chance of getting to know them.

I completely agree . You should ALWAYS gather your own email addresses - that way you KNOW they're optin.

Unless, of course, you decide to go rogue and cloak EVERYTHING, ie, spam....which is rather non-intelligent as well for the long run.

OH BUDDY, find the niche that they opt-in to, make a free product or free E-Course, maybe at the end of each message you send them, show a product at the bottom of the message. Just make sure you give your subscribers quality content!

If you live in the United States, get rid of it. If you blast and email to that list, your ISP will shut you down faster than you can imagine.

Not only that, but it is extremely illegal if those email addresses were not specifically opted in to receive emails.

When doing your daily affirmations, remind yourself that you have an email list of 100,000.

I don't think there's much other use.

I hope you didn't pay a lot of money for that list. Make your own list, little by little. You need to have an organic list that grows slowly over time, with your own subscribers. Yes, it takes time, but it will be a list of people who are interested in what you have to sell. Also, make it a confirmed opt in list, so that you create a list of interested subscribers.

Well you can take the list and brok it down to 99 for each mailing, used pimex mailexpress it`s free with a gmail, Send them a optin link with a can-spam act on the bottom and see what happans, it`s a long shot you have to be a PIRATE sometimes, cover all the odds -n- ends

Are these list black hat or people who subscribed to your "free course" or something?

Nobody gives good lists of 100,000 emails that can be used for anything of value. Is it targeted to anything? Seems like a great SPAM generator.

If this is your "own" opt-in list AND people have given you permission to send emails... THEN you can use to your advantage.

If this list is something that is GIVEN to you by someone else, just delete it and look for something more interesting.

Another thing. If your webhost is Hostgator, then you cannot send out more than 500 emails per hour per domain . . . or they'll assume you are spamming and shut you down. And it doesn't matter the type of list . . . that's just their house rule. Other webhosts may have a similar rule, YMMV.
