confused about domain

Hello fellow warriors.

So I own this domain "DiscreteNet.com" .I'm confused as to what I should do with this.I personally think its a good domain name for softwares, cracks and tips but can it be a HIT?

Or should I just sell it on flippa? ( Not sure about its worth tho)

What would you guys do with it?

Let me know
Thanks

If "software" is in your niche
and you think you can boost it..

    Do it yourself and
give it a shot... It could be a hit..

If "software" is not in your niche...

Then you can try selling it to somebody
    who it may appeal too...

But I don't think you'll get a lot for it...

You registered the domain 2 weeks ago - and you think it's worth something more than you paid?

Or do you think if you mention it on this forum people will ask to buy it???

I don't know why people register domains without a clue on what to do with them but some here seem to do that a lot.

I have to say that I agree with this comment....2 many people buy domains that are a few weeks old and think they are sitting on Gold...maybe if you have a 5 year aged domain that is really catchy you could sell it on Flippa.

I had someone contact me through my site last week and showed me about 40 domains they had bought and said that they had all been appraised at over 10,000$...I had to let him down gently after I did a little research, the point being he thought he had a Goldmine but really just has a list of newly bought domains...

    Uhhh...

You bought a domain 'cause you felt like it?

OK, I do that occasionally, though I have a plan for it however vague it might be.

You have nothing on it yet, so no one can tell you if it'll be something successful or not. The domain name is not a factor in success.

Finding a target market and solving a problem for it is. Letting them know you exist and where that domain (the solution) is...that's a success factor. Not just having a domain.

Try and flip it and see what you can get. That's the only real advice anyone can give.

You can definitely build your own site here - and take it to success.

One thing that you should know, is that the name of your domain has nothing to do with its success. So, thinking that "it could be a hit" just because the domain name is cool, is wrong.

The success will depend on many other factors, other than just the domain name.

    Now, regarding selling it;

If your domain name is kind of new, then you would actually lose money trying to sell it. Because you have to actually pay fees in order to list it on popular flipping sites.

And unless your domain is at least a year old, and you have good backlinks to it and a good page rank - you shouldn't even try to sell it!

Your best bet would be to pick a niche and build a blog. And learn how to make it a successful site. And maybe afterwards you can try to sell it.

Other than that, there is nothing you can do with it right now to benefit from it fast.

Your domain name has no intrinsic value. It's not particularly memorable, it doesn't mean anything special and it's not a popular name or phrase in any market that I am aware of. You'll be lucky to get your registration cost back.

Never register a domain name without a plan for it. We all fall in love with our own domains, but unfortunately, we are usually the only ones that see value in it. The key is to find someone that sees the potential in the name and sell it to them . . . quick so you can move on with a real money making model.

Discrete.com would be nice, but DiscreteNet.com - NAH... I believe it's worthless atm. What you can do is to work hard on this domain to build a better rank for your domain and then try to seel it.

Moreover, this domain is too fresh
