Is there a way to track google, yahoo, msn without having to contact the vendor to put the conversion code on download page?

for example on
Alternate Landing Pages & Ad Tracking Codes

.hop.clickbank.net/?pid=xx&tid=YOURCBID&g=YOURGGID

how are they doing this?

That's cool stuff. But I am not sure if it only works for that site because they have some kind of script or something to make it work. If that worked for any site that would be cool.
