1st blog: Music Industry information?

thanks to all who reads this.

2016 I made a goal to become sustainable off the www. ( $1000 per month). This past month I've been sifting through ideas and I think I found my niche.

Music Marketing/ Music Industry knowledge made simple. I'm a musician (singer/ producer) and have made contacts with a few music industry heads for my career as a musician so I think it would be useful to others and myself to create a blog that showcases the knowledge that every musician should know from an artists point of view: ( what a manger's role is and how much % they should be taking.. what sync licenses are etc). I have a lot of music friends who make great music but they like myself just don't know enough to navigate the industry and tend to focus only on the creative side.. I'd like to bridge that by making the rules of the industry very simple.

1. What do you guys think of this niche?
- Useful for myself because I then deeply ingrain this knowledge for my own music career.
- Can identify with the 'starving artist' who just want's the hack in simple terms.

2. Any recommended domain names?

3. How to make it profitable from the start? What tips would you tell your younger self who just created their first blog?
-Ad sense?
-Affiliate?

-Also hope this is in the correct forum (first post) ,let me know if otherwise

Blessings,

    Blessings,
The niche and industry sound perfectly good to me. However, "Music Marketing" is very broad as a niche and you should narrow down to a more specific niche / target market from there.

An extensive keyword research is the basic to start everything and this is exactly where you should start.

    Best regards,
    Andre Foisy

Dude, that is the exact same niche I want to get in eventually

I think if you do the blog route a really good idea would be to monetize it with affiliate banners for music marketing products (music marketing manifesto, music marketing classroom, new artists model, soundcloud vip, are all great ones)

My only other thoudht is once you have gathered enough really good information, creates your own ebook or info product, put it on jvzoo or clickbbank

Best of luck to you, I would be really interested in a blog like that when it's done!

Thanks for the list of affiliates, I was searching scared there was none. Keep in touch, once our blogs are off the ground and both our traffic is off the charts we can ad swap!

Too late fluux, i already have Trey Songz as a client.

    Haha just kidding.

Familiarize yourself with CDBaby, and buying royalty fees for any new clients so that they can record a track on a famous beat without getting in trouble. I'm thinking maybe you should assume the role of a *manager*? Where do you want to start off? What do you want to sell/offer to people in this niche? Ebooks, services, gigs...?

Domain name? yourmusicindustrycareer.com. Sounds alright to me. It's all about the marketing anyway.
