Marketing on Quora: Free Traffic vs. Paid Traffic

Hey,

In regards to free traffic one could enter social conversations
on blogs, FB, Twitter, LinkeIn, forums and Q&A sites ( besides other strategies ).
Now I am a big fan of Quora.
No trolls, no spam, only high quality answers.

I consider myself an expert in my niche and would like to build up a strong presence
on Quora, contribute via high quality answers and drive targeted traffic to my site.

I created an optin page which offers a high quality free report and a 40 day AR sequence.
I know that I could just go for paid traffic but I would like to succeed with free traffic.
So my question is if it`s possible and / or recommended to run traffic to my optin page by just "marketing" on Quora.
I know that there are some key points to consider, but I am talking about the sheer volume of targeted traffic. Is there enough of it?

Thanks
Frank

Think of Quora as a short term, as well as very long term investment of your time.

Answers don't get deleted, so if it is a highly searched term and people come across the page even a year later, you will gain traffic from it.

Although, I don't think it will be enough to satisfy your wants for traffic, as it is only one source of traffic. So, I do think it is good to answer questions (very niche relevant ones) but don't focus all of your energy on it.

Which sources of traffic besides Quora would you suggest?
