Hello,
My company have worked very hard to create great WordPress theme. Now, we want to release it with an Affiliate program and I am building this. But, I do not know what you guys (affiliates) care about in an affiliate program and I also do not know where to recruit new affiliates for my product. Can some body help me?

    • Ability to earn a good percentage on sales, with special incentives for high earners.
    • Good affiliate support in the form of sales material they can utilize.
    • No bleeding visitors from the website in the form of published toll free numbers, sign-up forms, etc.
Affiliates can be recruited from places such as ClickBank and JVZoo.

Create a free theme and publish to Wordpress.org. Then, offer pro version in the user's dashboard. I don't know if that is effective. Just a suggestion. As for popular marketer, you can go jvnotifypro.com. If you use Jvzoo, you will be able to see how many affiliates that you've been recruiting.

Most of the time affiliate will look for:

        Good Products
        Good Commisions
        Good Communication with the merchants
        Trust
        Ontime payments

If your theme is unique and really great, Themeforest is most probably the biggest marketplace to make a lot of sales.

They have an affiliate program so there will be guys selling it

You still have to do your marketing though, run a limited WSO for a intro price to get feedback.

That's how I would do it

This does not answer your initial questions, I know. The 3 points Annie mentioned basically covers it. Commission in $$ is the number 1 issue I guess as people who are Pros like to make the most out of their time.

Affiliates Wanted! Make anywhere from 42,- to $72 in commissions. Simply Recommend the Best QuickBooks Pro Video Course available at Clickbank.

Hello, thank you for your advice. In fact, we will release the theme on compnay's store (on themeforest). But we still make an affiliate program for it so it will be even more attractive to affiliates (double bonus)

If you have a good products but not have skills to promote it. I suggest to find "marketing guys" to make your promotion and sales going faster. I already have the same situation with themes creator that have problems with promoting. Even I gave the place to promote like forums, marketplace or blog related, still they don't understand how to do with. I suggest you need to hire that "marketing guys" to start projects to promote your good themes/products.

You should definitely read Affiliate Manager Boot Camp: Recruiting, Educating, and Retaining Affiliates by Shawn Collins!
You'll learn where to recruit affiliates.
Also you could read the blog of Geno Prussakov.
Thse two sources has helped me a lot at the beginning.

1 - They want to know they will be paid on time, so it's important to know the network or Affiliate tracking you use.

    2 - They want a good $ and % commission

3 - They want good marketing material to be able to promote you quickly

4 - They want an amazing sales page that's ready to convert

5 - They need to believe you have a good product or service. No point in promoting low quality products due to the refunds you would get

    Hope it helps Good luck.

Affiliates look for HIGH commission rate. If you NOT willing to share HIGH commission with them. FORGET about affiliates. No one will help you sell something and get only 25% commission and below. Use attractive commission rate like 40%-75%.

The rest is all about your product whether it is a good product to promote or a junk that no one wants it.

    Hi there,

When choosing an affiliate program, an affiliate looks for the product usability, target audience, compensation structure, and the business credibility.

    Highly recommend JVzoo!

You can make thousands of sales and subscribers by launching with a JV partner.

  • Good input so far, but I would add I look for a wide range of products. A platform like Market Health is huge, but you're locked into health products only. I don't like that, personally. I much prefer a platform such as ShareaSale that has varied offerings.

I also look for creatives (banners and such), rather than simple text links.

When I pick a product I look at how many sales the owner has done. E.P.C's or earnings per click. Plus I'm lazy so I like banners and content that is already done and proven to get me results.

My first impression, if u selling a new product, don't bother launch an affiliate program in house (not worh it unless u got a cutting edge product and well known name).

Affiliate networks open for u a great exposure, and easy to implement at low cost.

I look for commissions upwards of 50%. Convincing sales page, and good tools and material I can use to promote the product. If you can have a tested pre written auto responder series even better.

Being a rather simple kind of a guy, I simply demand high quality, acceptable ROI (not necessarily high commission), and an iron-clad unconditional refund policy (similar to Clickbank).

All the replies are great. I would add some guided questions that I would want to know as an affiliate.

      - Does the affiliate program have attractive tested banner creatives and are they developing more?
      - Is the payout easy to understand? I prefer more than just am I getting paid.
      - Can I envision an ability to earn money from the traffic I drive?
      - Is this a common product that people in this industry would buy?

I hope these questions have added value to your launch

High commission rate, conversion rate and payment proofs are the few crucial points affiliates consider before they join any affiliate program.

        Ultimately, I want:

        -High EPC's

-A long funnel with multiple OTO's that allow me multiple opportunities to earn

-Affiliate bonuses for performance (first to X number of sales, top sales etc.)

-Affiliate tools such as email swipes etc. so that I can write original stuff with some kind of guide for the promotion

-I love, love, love sending traffic to pre-sell webinars

-A responsive product creator who will help me push their product (I hate when product creators feel like I owe them traffic for some reason just because they made a product... No... I care more about my list then your product... Give me something good and I will give you a few hundred sales)

If the product has all of that, and is relevant to my list/what I'm teaching my list, then I will mail hard for offers like that and make as much money as I possibly can for everybody involved.
