Multiple Niche sites or....

So I have a quick question for ya'll, when it comes to affiliate marketing and
making a website for the product(s) you're promoting, is it better
to stick with one website or make multiple websites for the niche?

For example , lets say I am into the home entertainment niche.

Should I make a one website that has tv's, surround sound, dvd players etc?
or
Should I make a website with tv's a website with surround sound and a website with dvd players?

This is such a huge debate, and I really think there's no definite answer! People succeed with both models.

    Advantages of multiple sites:
    • Multiple streams of income
    • You have fallbacks in case one of the sites needs to be shut down for some reason, or just stops being profitable
    • Each site is more specialized and optimized for a particular purpose
    • You can have a different voice on each site
    Advantages of one site:
    • You get to focus your energy on one thing
    • Easier to build up subscribers and a devoted following
    • Easier to build domain authority on a single site
    I've probably missed some things.

With those two example niches I would say, two different sites. But, one foot in front of the other is the best. It is impossible to work on two sites at the same time, so worry about a single site, when you have time to start and work on another site, then start the second site. I highly suggest multiple sites because you can test a lot of different things out, but you can't produce the sites simultaneously. At the end of the day when you really figure everything out and you're completely confident in your ability, then focus on your best site.

I personally have a lot of sites, some of them were practice and others were experiments. After building sites for awhile I decided to stop "practicing" and for me multiple sites fit my personality better. At the end of the day, it's more about you then the site(s).

It's a lot easier to laser focus 1 site, and with it being smaller you can get to a point where you can start a second site sooner.

A large is a lot of work to manage, and since you're just getting your feet wet, could get overwhelming pretty quick.

Try your hand at a few smaller, tightly focused sites and the rest will fall into place.

I think it can work either way, but ideally I think it's best to have a separate website for each product (this article does a great job explaining why), then have a website that serves as a hub linking to the others. Then again, it's cheap and easy to test an offer first on a sub-domain and then purchase a separate domain once it's been proven viable.

One website with multiple post to promote the products is the best. As you can use the power of interlinking to boost that website to the top

Doesn't hurt to start multiple sites. Get a little Age on them while focusing one at a time. Thats how I have done it.

        x2

I do things a bit differently for each project, but I did a case study in july-august that was basically an authority site vs. small niche site vs. parasites.

The outcome? Everything generated some commissions. The smaller niche site gobbled up a bunch of spam links quickly and ranked quickly with spun garbage. After that I 301'd the smaller niche site to the authority site for a big time boost and now the focus is on the authority site and optimizing.

Here is how I start all projects now: By 3-5 similar domains. Add 5-10 pages of spun content and spam away. After a month I keep the best one ranking and 301 the others and then improve the content. I can get projects up and running with this method quick and then move on while the links settle in. The investment is just a few hours of time to get something that is already proven to rank as compared to spending months on good content and having nothing happen.

I'm sure that some people will say that's not how it's supposed to be done.....but you know what? It's working for now. Maybe things will change with the next penguin but I'll ride this out as long as I can.

Go with just one website. If you have multiple websites your attention and time will be split among those websites (and also your traffic).
The best practice in affiliate marketing is to create a project, make it work and upscale it.
Do you want to have 3 lame websites or a good one?

Everyone may have their different strategies and they have pros and cons to both.

Having multiple smaller sites allows you to be more focused with your content and build around that keyword terms. It allows you to build it up quicker with less planning.

Building larger sites allows you to build up your domain authority and then leverage it for other keywords. It requires more planning but you can get wider coverage.

I personally would prefer to go for the bigger site as that'll help you in the long run. I notice base on observation of your user post that you appear to be new to internet marketing and looking to build niche affiliate sites to make money. I've done it before and let me know if you have any questions.

Some courses that you can also check out on the Forum is Bring the Fresh or Google Sniper if you're looking for a full information package. I bought both when they opened and it was quite informative step by step set up of sites with recommended themes and so forth. I can dig it up if you need some info.

  • I do one product per website. If it catches on, then I create more websites but with different products in the same niche.

It's MUCH easier to rank in Google this way (assuming you're trying to get search engine traffic).

I know this thread was started a while back but its kind of relevant to what i want to do. I used to build niche sites promoting ONE product with at least 3 pages of content and i was able to rank them fairly quickly. it wasnt as hard as it is now to rank sites because of googles changes. Now a lot of people are talking about using PBNS but I've been hearing some horror storys about PBNS like google catching on and de indexing your sites. Is it a bad idea to use pbns?

It's a gray hat technique, if you do it one way, it's white hat and they don't care (big sites like amazon.com do it) and the other way is black hat and you risk getting penalized. If the sites in your network are spam sites with auto generated content, google isn't stupid, it might work for awhile but they have tools that will reveal a network of sites like that instantly. A manual reviewer will have to come by and verify the findings, if the network holds up to a manual review, then it's fine.

I use to think like that too.....

thinking of setting up another sites for adsense.

base one just one site my earning not much..

but I read up some WR suggestion around...

          also " subjective :

if focus just one site ...you don't need to spend so much energy daily create new contents
next can focus just one thing.

multi sites you might lose energy too much to focus.

some suggest just focus on one site ...slowly build up ...and ok..than move on 2nd site.

for me presently I just focus one site.

is really time consuming ...even you use " some automatic stuff " you still need to search around the contents , etc

And do note , Not every IM managed to earn back the hosting fee ...hard truth....
if you have multi sites , that means you have to pay for all those domains names...
