Newb Boarding a Plane: Load Me Up

Facing ~14 hours of plane rides and could use some reading/learning suggestions.

I've never done any sort of internet marketing before. I'm an IT pro with programming skills, as well as a business degree, so I'm not a babe in the woods per se...maybe a toddler in the grove.

I've casually read about various strategies out there but now I'm ready to knuckle down, invest a little time and cash if need be, and build a business.

Traffic generation, SEO, affiliate programs, autoblogging, adsense, clickbank, article spinning, etc. - I'm pretty ignorant about all of it.

So if you were me and willing to spend a little to learn a lot, what would top your list?

Ideally I'd learn the range of options/strategies out there, choose some, and delve deeper into them, experimenting as I go.

      I would spend those hours really trying to figure out what it is that I want to do. Do not get too scattered with all of the hype ways to make money online, instead write down your own talents and see how you can market yourself or your services for starters.

        One thing you definitely need to do is to decide on what product you're going to offer and how best to find a market for that product. I'd say that's the best place to start before doing anything else.

    One of the things I regret since I started Internet Marketing, is that I ignored so many people who offered advice to "Build a list" - it was only much later that I realised, that this is indeed a corner stone of your building blocks to being successful.

    This is what I would personally advise you to look into ...... understand the process and then put it into action as soon as possible as a top priority. Next to that would come product creation ..create a product to sell to your list.
