Where to hire best support staff... (not philippino)?

Hey!

Firstly, I have nothing against Filipinos, some
of the nicest and most hospitable people in the
word. But time and time again I've had to let them
go due the work not being done as agreed.

I'm a bit stuck here and was wondering if anyone
could recommend a good site or had experience
where I could hire (full time) from other countries.

My brother in-law is a professor at one of the major
universities here in Aus, and he said they often use
Sri Lanka workers, and they are very reliable.

Have to fill positions this week,
so any help would be much appreciated, thanks!

You can try Fiverr or Upwork, better Upwork I think. Just create an offer and tell them all what you need, then you can select few of them if you want to have a little talk and choose one.

Check their profiles to see the experience, reputation and feedback they have in the platform, it will be better for you in the end.

Is not very hard to do, very user friendly if you have anything to ask just send me a pm.

Thanks Nico! Have been to those sites, but not sure if they are best options for hiring full timers. I don''t want someone who is working on 5 other things at the same time. Will give it another look thanks.

Mate hire one to spell check better " philippino " really !! also pay the staff what they are worth, not what you think they are worth and you should not have a issue

      Hey, you can find a good list of freelancer marketplaces in this list (there's 25+). Here are a few that I personally can recommend;

      1. Remote OK
      2. Remotive.io (free to post a job)
      3. Angel.co

You can also try the standard go-to job boards like Upwork, Freelancer and Fiverr.

      Good luck!

P.S. as a caveat, I don't think Filipinos are the issue, I think it's just a matter of finding the most talented ones vs price-shopping. I work remotely from the Philippines and there's a lot of talent here

Problem is probably on your side. I know Filipino's doing great work. The good ones as is the case with people in general in any country don't work for pennies. You generally get what you pay for.

Thanks everyone. I've been budgeting about $300 USD a month for a new support person. Last support person was with me for many years, and worked her way to about $600 a month. Really valuable responses thanks everyone.

I use Upwork for most of my sourced work and really enjoy the prices as well as the quality of client options.

  • Sorry to hear about your previous bad experience from some of my countrymen. I think you’ll find that there are unreliable workers in every country. It’s on you to vet everyone you hire as fully as possible.

Aside from Upwork and Fiverr, you can try Elance, PeoplePerHour, Freelance.com.
I think it is safest to hire using those sites because they give you some security. You can report them to the site admins if the people you hire do not do perform like they claimed they could. There is a money-back guarantee in upwork that you can file if there is a problem on the project. You can always give a feedback to that contractor so that clients have an idea of how that person performs.

Upwork is good to go. But make sure you hire good people at a slight highest price.
