Just hit 500,000 views on EZA

Just hit 500,000 views on EZA ... on a total of 680 articles. I have been writing on EZA for about 1 1/2 years now and have learned quite a bit. I used to average 150 CTR per article but now it is up to 750+ on avg. The best advice I could give is what has been said thousands of times on the WF already:

Good keyword research AND implementation = Success


Of course, there are other factors involved but keyword research is by far the most important IMHO.

Pardon me as i ask a newbie question. How do people get to your articles? Because they type ezine.com into their address bar? Or because ezine is well liked by google and thus your ezine post appears on google first page with the keywords you are targetting?

No it is not. I understand your being sceptical as I am too. The truth is my sig. does not need promoting, I keep busy enough. In fact, I thought about not using it on this post as I leave it off on many of my posts. I simply was trying to do what kkchoon picked up on ... encourage others that are new.

Maybe you are right. But any one can do that because it is allowed and everyone likes the free promotion. BTW his bold sentence is okay.

With all due respect may I disagree to some extent. I am a relative newbie to IM & Article marketing, however I have decade of sales, customer service and marketing experience. If I may use an analogy from my bricks-n-mortar days.

The analogy is based on farm pond fishing. Keyword research is similar to looking at various farm ponds; checking for water clarity, surrounding ground layout, bank condition etc. Surveying the possibilities to choose the one that will yield the most fish.

To continue the analogy, when I cast my baited hook into my chosen pond, the bait should be optimized for the type of fish and environment of that pond - at least to catch the most fish possible with the least number of casts. Quality content is "the optimized bait" used to entice the reader (fish) into striking the hook.

Of course I agree that niche research is important, perhaps the most important single part. Quality content will determine if you "catch" a 5 pound lunker or 3 or 4 minnows.

How much profit have those 500k views created? That's what counts.

I agree as that is the bottom line. I have done pretty well but continue to learn and look to expand. In my first year in IM I made more doing it then I did in my full time job.

I can only comment on my own experience and that the proper keyword research took my article marketing to another level.

If you use the right long tail keywords and backlink to the article then it often appears at the top of the SERPS ... traffic! I am also building my sites along the way but the article traffic provides a nice supplemental income.

I did not know I was being evasive ...

I do not see too many people posting dollar figures but I will say this for fear of being labeled, "Evasive," I made north of 40k my first year.

In truth, the dollars do not mean anything. The fact of the matter is that a good diligent digging in to find the right long tail keywords and taking action will lead to good things. Until I found the right way to find those keywords I was getting nowhere. Again, this is just my experience. Yes, article marketing works IMO (If you do it right).

The beauty of it is that you can do both. Get the links to your site and in the process lead them to the product you are promoting.

No problem at all. The reality is that you can make some nice bank through article marketing ... if I can do it then most anyone can. There are many facets to doing it successfully but I have found that the real breakthrough came about as a result of doing better keyword research.
