I've been using Camtasia Recorder for years. I won't go into details regarding it's features - you can find that on their site. I use it in recording training materials, video and voice conference and more. My 6 year old son can use it, he made a few videos while playing Minecraft. It is very user friendly minimal training required. Also has a lot of features to use with tons of tasks.

Hope you try it. It is well worth it.

This is worth the shot. Try it for yourself and see the outcome.

It is an excellent choice for easy creation of slick education, information or promotion videos.

i think Camtasia is the 'industry standard' but I recently bought Apowersoft screen recorder pro and it does the job. Think they also have a free basic version.

As mentioned above that's the best bet, however, if you're using Mac, my recommendation would be screenflow.

Huge agreement on the Screencasto-matic. I love it. I have tried all kinds of free screencast programs and this is heads and tails above the rest. I popped for the paid version because it has tons of great features like video-in-video webcam integration, and drawing and editing on screen. I love it and you just can't beat the price even for the paid version. However, even the free version is way better than most freebie programs.

Here are the top 3 that I have worked with

      1. Jing

I love jing because you can capture screen videos or picture

and just upload them to the cloud and get a link that you can give to any one.

      Like this! -- 1 - Mike Vietri's library

      very handy for outsourcing task.

      and it's free

      2. Screencasto-matic

      is also really good,

use it once or twice can not say much..

      3. camtasia studio

this one cost a lot of money

but I used it for the free trail and it was really good,

more like a whole editing software for screen captures

      Hope that helped

      I'm with Jason,
Screencast-o-matic is excellent and very easy to use. Been using it for a few years now and love it.

Tried quite a few others and didn't get the same feel for them.

If you want something quick easy and free - Jing

If you want something awesome, handy, and nifty and professional quality - Camtasia

You can always use a freebie until they do another sale on appsumo.com I picked up my copy from there for something crazy like 50% off.

For MAC users (hopefully there are some, haha!) what I can *highly recommend* is 'Movavi'.

They have a bunch of video & screenshot software at very affordable, one-time prices.

I have been using Camtasia and Snagit for about a year. I use both of them all the time. They also have great customer service if you have any problems.

I have tried several over the years and I found that most have features you will never use.

Screencastomatic mentioned earlier in the thread is what I use. It accomplishes all I need and costs less than $20 a year.

Save some money and try this option first.

For Image, I use the Print Screen button on the Keyboard. in the Windows 7 or, upper version there is an built in application is SNIPPING TOOLS. You can use this apps easily. On the other hand for video I use Camtasia or, Camstudio. Both of these apps has free version, you can use these, if you wish. Thanks.

I just got Corel's Video Studio Pro 8 for Christmas and it has a screen capture program built into it along with the video studio. I already had Camtasia and love it. Camtasia is well worth the money and I use it a lot!

    God Bless,

    Elmo

I use camtasia studio too. It is very user friendly. It captures and records your screen. You could even attach an iPhone and record the screen of your phone with a few simple steps.
