Peteinoz - You've Given Me An Idea! Getting The Most BANG For Your Buck, Pound OR Yen...

Hi,

Fellow Warrior peteinoz started a thread earlier about how currency fluctuations affect his income Down Under.

So, a thought popped into my head. It's not an original concept, perhaps someone else has a product to do this in the IM industry, perhaps not...

How about a website script that would enable you to target your audience based on country?

i.e. If visitor 'A' was from the US, he'd see an offer geared toward him, in his 'language', with the price set to US Dollars.

If visitor 'B' was from Australia, he'd get an Aussie-sounding offer, with the price set to Aussie Dollars etc.

The thinking is, your sales pitch can be highly targetted (by using local slang, for instance), and you can charge different amounts for your product depending on your visitor's nationality.

Just a thought. Any opinions?

Steve

Sounds like one of those "why didn't I think of this"..could well work.

Although, I would ask what type of products would you try to market to different people from different countries?

      I like it.
      Cheers, Imran.

I think this could work for any product, digital or physical.

Some folks - especially outside the IM arena - feel more comfortable buying stuff from their own country.

My wife, for instance, won't buy anything - even a downloadable product - if it's priced in dollars/whatever. She just doesn't 'get' the whole deal.

So if she were redirected to a UK-centric offer, even for the exact same product, she'd be more likely to buy. Even if the price was higher in GBP than its US equivalent.

      Thanks for the comment.

I use a script that redirects the customer depending upon their IP address. Works very well for me and I have been using it for around 10 months now.

I think it is produced by a Dutch company, can't remeber their name and can't be bothered to look it up.

Juist Google for redirector script and you will find quite a few out there.
