I built a "Build Your Own Website" site, How Would You Promote It?

I created a website that teaches people how to build a website using wordpres. Obviously the goal is for them to sign up to hosting through my HostGator affiliate llink and use my promo code so I can make a nice affiliate commission.

Is this niche too overcrowded? How would you go about it to get 1-3 consistent sign ups per day? Any ideas?

Here is the website in case you are wondering how it looks: http://www.webalore.com

Others actually build out the wordpress site for free in order to get the $50 - $100 commission. But you're trying to "teach" instead of help them with the installation...

Between the guy who actually builds it for free and yourself who tries to teach it, who do you think will get most of the commissions? You need a better angle of approach, friend.

Yes I have tried that in the past, with not much of a marketing strategy. But I would think that most newbies would drop out within the first month. So it's not worth the effort to build a site without knowing if they are going to stick around till I qualify for the commission.

I can definitely add on the website that I can help them along the way in case they get stuck somewhere. Which I doubt cause building a WordPress website is quite simple.

How many people out there that need to build a website know about people who will build them for them? I want to target those that want to build it themselves.

Just looking for ideas as to how to go about it.

Hi There, To promote your website I would suggest you to do some on page optimization and off page optimization and a final one is use google alerts to get good traffic.

Not to be rude, but I want to do other type of promotion other than SEO. Thank you though.

You might also consider taking the content on your site and making a Udemy.com training video course and offer it free. Within the training you can link to your website or use your hosting affiliate link or both.

Many free Udemy.com training courses use this exact strategy.

    Hi,

What you are aiming for is a difficult goal to achieve that will require probably days or months of hard work.

Meanwhile you can opt for Google Adwords for quick results. It is somewhat expensive but worth spending in.

If you want to opt for something free, try out topmost social media sites by constantly posting about your blog.

I have gained success with Social Media for my blog. You can check out one and adopt the same for your blog.

    Regards,

I don't know how the media is in Mexico, but here in the USA companies like Foursquare and Wix are spending big bucks saturating TV - broadcast, cable and streaming services.

Being consistent. Optimize. Send traffic maybe with pay per click to make sure your headlines and content is going to convert into leads and sales for you. It can never get overcrowded when you separate yourself from the competition which is what you are going.

Start small with your promotions until you know you have a winner.

Your niche is very competitive. you wont rank your site in Google without spending thousands and thousands.

Your best, and only bet is to some how try to rank on YouTube and turn your site lessons into a video for free and then direct them to a landing page to sign up for the hosting.

You could also try banner advertising on the free sites that give advice on wordpress?

I would look into paid ads if I was new and wanting to make sales.

Make sure you are building a list and also test all sorts of places to see what is working for you.

Free marketing works but paid gets you FASTER results. When it comes to paid ads, you should have a daily budget of let's say $10. That way, you really start small and when things start working for you, you can then scale and spend more.

Is the profit worth it? How much of a commission would you be earning on each sale?

I'm amused it's a "how to build wordpress" site but the site itself is not built on wordpress.

Focus on giving value that they would love and hard to say no to. I would put myself in their place and ask. "What can I give of high value to build their trust" Come from a different angel than everyone else is doing. The more unique and valuable the better..

And as stated earlier, make sure you are building a list. This cut advertising down in a HUGE if you have a great relationship with them. : )
