Twitter - pointless babble?
A recent report shows Twitter's content to be about 40% "pointless babble".
This was referring to not-so-useful tweets such as "I am now eating a sandwich" or "I'm at the hairdressers". Conversational messages - tweets that go to and forth between users - accounted for about 37% and the more useful information with value, passed along as re-tweets were only around 9% with the rest being made up of self-promotion messages from companies. I am not really a twitter user...but I do know someone who swears by it. Given these stats, does anyone on this forum actually gain any value from twitter, or make money from it? Just would be interested to know.

Yes I make money from Twitter. Treat it like a blog, connect it to your network and you'll see it will help things along.

There is no reason why you should follow people who produce "pointless babble". I follow less than 30 people and I get quality info, cool conversation and a few laughs from it.

But hey, I don't use it as a "super-duper-money-making-machine-type-of-system". I use it to connect with people.

    Cheers,

    Josip

lol. I would have put the pointless babble percentage combined with the spam up to 90% at least.

5% pointless babble, 95% spam. At least from the IM people.
