PayPal Question. Please Help.

Okay I don't have a merchant PayPal account (just personal) and I want to sell something via my blog.

Is there any chance of, after payment, the buyer being redirected to download page automatically?

    Yes. There are two elements to this.

    1) You create "buttons" in your PayPal account. Each button contains information about the product, price etc. One of the fields is a url the buyer is redirected to.

    2) To keep yourself from getting ripped off you want to know if the person visiting this page has paid, right? So you use PayPal instant notification. When they buyer buys PayPal posts a message to a url you provide (not the landing page url). This is usually a cgi script that parses the info. So by the time the visitor gets to your download page you already have their details.

    You can pass information to the PayPal and get it back in the IN. For example the cookie id of the visitor.

      But I have to say I'm a bit stuck on step 2.

      Do I have to create this CGI script?

      Also could you please explain step 2 to me in a.. complete noobish way .
