What would be a good WordPress product to sell?

Hey Guys,

I currently run a website and YouTube channel which teach people how to build websites and blogs using WordPress. At the minute I make all of my money recommending hosting through an affiliate program.

Now I am looking for something that I could sell to people through email and other methods on my site. I have a good few thousand people on my list, but they nearly all already have hosting...

I am looking to either create/recreate my own ebook, or else recommend another DECENT affiliate programs... any ideas?? (preferably from experience). Any good WordPress products you guys know off that MOST people would need/want?

Thanks a lot guys,
MartieDread

PS

I don't mean things like Aweber or LeadPages (I will be using these, but I am looking for more specific WordPress things!)

There are so many free Wordpress tools and websites available, however look for Wordpress Themes that offer affiliate programs, and that goes for the plugins as well.

How about creating your own ebook, something like _ Wordpress Ideas, you fill in the blank, to Make Your Wordpress Blog a Traffic Magnet. These ideas could be the right plugins one needs to use, the right theme, and so on.

Hope this has been a help.

Thank-You very much for your answer!
Any ideas on a good plugin that nearly everyone could benefit from?

(even if you can just think of a few ideas or anything, I am super grateful for your help already!)

As far as plugins go there are just too many to list really, but a couple of Ideas would be amazon, ebay, google adsense, twitter, and facebook plugins. Salespage, Contest, Contact, pop up screens, and social sharing plugins. Like I said many are offered for free at wordpress, but the ones mentioned you could look for that might be a little more fancy or different features have been added by creators who have affliates programs.

Do not forget you can always get in on whitelabel or private label wordpress products that you can rename as your own. There are some pretty neat products out there that the original owners will allow you to sell under your own private label. Good luck

This is research you need to do on your own like the rest of us. But, one that I would promote would be pretty links

Exactly. You really, really, really gotta do the research yourself. After all, you know your business better than anyone else. More importantly, you know your customers better than anyone else.

The thing is, Wordpress is used for just about everything, and as such there are plugins for just about everything. But only a certain amount are probably going to be relevant to your users. And you're the one in the best position to know which they are.

I will give you this hint however. Often it's not the most popular or most famous products (whether plugins, books or toaster ovens) that sell the best. Your users can -- and probably will -- find those products without your help. What I try to look for are those high quality, but hard to find products that will really be of value to my users, if only they knew about them. Which again speaks to why you need to do this research yourself.

A last point is that it's not just what you pitch, but when you pitch it. For instance, if you were doing a video on how to insert images into Wordpress, pitching a plugin for managing comments probably would only do so-so at best. But if your video was about managing comments, pitching something like the Disqus plugin would probably be effective (except that I think it's free... But the principle is the same!)

If I were you, with each and every video, I'd be thinking about related products (including, but not limited to plugins) that would really be of value to my users. In other words, I wouldn't just pitch the same plugins over and over again with every post or every video, but would target my recommendations to the topic at hand. But again, to do this effectively you'd need to really know what products are out there -- which is again to say you need to do your own research.

    Hi Martie,

The best way is to create an ebook of your own something like “(Build/Create) Wordpress (blog/website) in 5 minutes or less!”

Giving out that ebook free to visitors who subscribe to your blog will help you build a strong and relevant email list, whom you can send affiliate products in future through email.

    Regards,

    - Graphic packages
    - Themes: (OptimizePress, LeadPages, WooThemes, etc...)
    - Video Creation: (Explaindio, VideoFX, Camtasia, etc...)
    - Keyword tools: (Longtail Pro, MarketSamurai, TrafficTravis, etc...)
    - Autoresponders: (Aweber, GetResponse, iContact, etc...)
    - Automation: (Infusuionsoft, Ontraport, Active Campaigns, etc...)

There's so many products and services that can be in direct relation to building Wordpress sites. Every week new products, plugins, themes, and services are released on the popular "affiliate networks" (i.e. JVzoo, Clickbank, WarriorPlus) and other relative products/services.

If you've sold hosting successfully, simply add "relative" affiliate products that stay in context with building sites, video, advertising, and marketing solutions... There are literally "unlimited" quality products to promote.

Build an email list, and start "segmented" your subscribers needs, interests, fears, aspirations, etc... Whereby, you can "narrow down" what areas they either need help with or invest their interest in pursuing.

There is a good WP Plugin I came upon the other day at Warrior + called V Pages.
Make Video Pages from your WP Dashboard.

      Just google it
