Hi,

I'm trying to decide whether it would be worth my time offering my services as a Kindle coach, in the short term.

I have 9 books published and do have some reasonable success. (In fiction.)

Is this something that is worth putting out there or is there no interest in that sort of thing? As you can probably tell, I'm not a 'marketer'. :-)

Most likely writing a 10th book on how to write successful books would be the way to go for you. If it's successful, you will know for sure people buy your coaching (video lessons, webinars etc.) as well.

I have no interest in writing a non-fiction title and to be honest, I'm only interested in coaching as a very short term thing for a limited number of people. I don't want to go down the video lessons, webinars etc route.

Fiction is where I make my money and where I intend staying but I just need to increase my cashflow for the next couple of months for something I'm working on.

Honestly, when you say 'reasonable' what does that exactly entail ?

Not trying to be up in your business, but to me you should really not be a formal Coach unless you are genuinely making a full time living doing this !.

That's just my own personal opinion and I know many here will disagree

No problem Robert, it's a valid question!

      I'm not making a million but I average about 6k-8k a month

If you are successful at what you do, you can definitely coach others. There's a market for everything!

Since this is a short term, temporary thing, I'd try to keep it as informal as possible. I'm guessing that your post here might result in some PMs asking about what you do, how much you charge, etc.

If you have a Facebook page, you might try floating the idea there. Or, if your page is for your fiction audience, try floating the idea in writer's groups or (not sure if this is allowed there) in the Kindle forums.

Have a price tag and scope of services in mind. Will you read and critique an author's work? How much? A chapter, three chapters?

If you're making $6k-$8k per month, you're doing something right in your marketing, despite your assertion that you are not a marketer. Are you willing to guide other authors down similar paths for a price?

The simple secret, if you can call it that, is to put a mutually beneficial offer in front of people looking for what you can provide.

if you have success at what you do you could probably create a membership site where you would do coaching in your niche.
    Have you thought about it?
membership sites are very lucrative and offer good value if set up properly.

      Hi Christina,

No it's not something I've thought about. I would have no idea where to start and it would take too much time away from my own writing. I really just want to do a bit of coaching for people who need a bit of help to get on the right track.

I think there are some misunderstandings. You're not trying to set this up as a business because you lack the marketing and technical knowledge or don't have the time. You want to focus on writing and make a nice side income through coaching, correct? In that case, you can indeed keep it simple and just coach people via Skype without having a website etc. You can find clients right here in the forum, e.g. by opening a thread here http://www.warriorforum.com/warriors-hire/

I think that's a great idea! You should definitely go with it. Just be sure to test small and then scale up once you've got it figured out

Besides the Warrior for Hire thread, trying putting a signature together offering Kindle coaching on a limited basis. Just don't spam the forum and you may get some people off the main forum.

    BOOK COACH
There are many people creating amazon e-books on Kindle publishing that need help with their book covers. Others do not know any marketing and those could use your assistance, but how much would you charge us. Basically, that is the question we have for you. Please make a list your services:
    1. book editing
    2. book covers
    3. book fairs
    4. getting reviews
    5. marketing

Do you have an audience? A following that knows you're a successful writer? If so, definitely go the coaching route - group coaching is effective, lucrative, and isn't necessarily the time and energy suck that one-on-one mentoring can be.

    Good luck!

Starting with a book to build leads is how I started coaching people within kindle publishing.

You could join the warrior forum kindle's area too. Most of the people there did the same thing ;; BOOK + buyers = COACHING services.

Coaching is a book live .. so why put down a book just because " I have no desire to write non fiction" ??

    keep moving forward
