Questions about Amazon-based site

Hi,

I'm new to this forum (which is great by the way) and have two questions I was hoping you could help me with:

1. The site I need help with (see note below) has been up and running for over a year. I struggled for a long time to get any decent sales (i.e: was getting 1-2 sales a month max) and then about 3 months ago I switched to a shop-theme instead of a blog-theme. That boosted me up to 8-10 sales per month. Amazing feeling! Now I'm just wondering if you guys had any suggestions to boost my traffic. The commissions are low with Amazon, so the more traffic, the more sales I'm hoping. Any ideas? I'm on most of the social sites and regular post stuff, but that doesn't seem like enough.

2. A while ago I heard about a site that does user reviews of your website. Basically, submit your URL, people comment on what you should improve on your site and the bonus is that you get a backlink. Do any of you know what that site is called? I would love more backlinks and feedback on the site at the same time. I'm sure there is a lot I can improve.

Note: For the site, just go to the site in my signature and then scroll down to "Porfolio" and then it's the 1st site listed. (Knee Braces)

Thanks in advance!

Dan

p.s.: Again, I'm new. Let me know if I'm supposed to split my questions in different threads. Wasn't sure since both questions are related to the same site.

    Hi,

Did you check with Google AdWords Keyword Planner how many searches are actually there for you to reap each month for the keywords your site is about? This is important because it shows how big interest for what your site offers really is out there. This is important so you know what to expect, and to know what a good result is with the traffic you get and what is not so good.

How do you get traffic to your Amazon site? Well, there are really two ways: 1) You rank good with your made-for-Amazon website for the keywords that you're interested in and 2) You have very popular authority website or social page and then you link to your Amazon site or you give your Amazon product right there on that authority site or social page. There is a third way too, but it is a completely different story and that is some kind of PPC.

All of the above is easier said than done. That's why I have my coaching program. But, anyway Amazon is a good way to make money. Yes, you can make money with Amazon but you have to know how to do one of the above mentioned things properly. I'm teaching people how to do that but you can also spend some time and find out by yourself. Focus on how to rank on Google for specific keywords or focus on how to create very popular social page or look for info on how to create authority site.

As I've said, there are details that lead to above mentioned missions being completed, but this is the best advice I can give you here.

As for your second question you probably mean sites like this: Concept Feedback | Get Expert Website Feedback and Increase Conversions

Don't listen to people saying Amazon commissions are low. I'm telling you, there is money to be made with Amazon, but targeted visitors are the key! I know it, I've been doing it for a long time...

    Hope I helped

Thanks for the feedback! Yes, I have been working with Keyword Planner. For some reason, I didn't focus a lot on it the first year but I spent a lot of time in January re-working my blog posts and product info to include more specific keywords. I think I just have to be more patient and wait for my site to rank higher with those keywords.

I'm also working on the social side of things a lot more now. (Again, something I wasn't focusing on enough in the past I think...). It's good to know that you offer some coaching. I'll see how my Jan/Feb changes are working out and may be in touch if it doesn't work out.

Thanks for the help and also for the link. That's exactly the type of site I was looking for, but apparently there are some free ones out there, so I'll keep looking. At these I have a starting point.

Why don't you just outsource your traffic generation tasks to a VA?

You can find a VA that knows what she / he is doing for around $25 for a fixed set of deliverables.

    Pay for results.

    No results, no pay.

    Simple as that.

    That's how I get results.

All the VAs that work for me get paid by results not 'time spent' or 'best efforts'

Best efforts don't put food on the table...

    Actual deliverables DO.
