Absolutely..the question is what do you want to do? Sell something? Blog? What are your goals?

With the new wordpress upgrades---one push upgrade and searchable plug ins, I don't think there is any worthy alternatives.

But if you find one, let me know. I won't switch. But I'll check it out.

To be honest I don't know of anything simpler than Wordpress.

If you are having trouble installing it, go to YouTube and search for 'install wordpress' or 'wordpress install' -- you will get a ton of results that show you step-by-step how to do it.

Many web hosts have an auto-installer like Fantastico or Installatron which installs it for you. You just tell the installer where to install it, and it does the rest.

Or, ask your web host to install it for you. No insult intended (as we all started out as newbies), but Wordpress is very easy and fast to install, there is no reason why a web host would say no to such a simple request. (And if they do say no, or want to bill you for it, get a better web host. You should be getting better service than that.)

Once it is installed, it is then super-easy to install plug-ins as well as do upgrades. Literally click of 1 button. It doesn't get any simpler than that.

Take a deep breath and be patient. Give yourself a chance to figure it out. We all started at square one and we all had to figure it out too. Wordpress is so customizable, it is a great solution for many needs.

By the same token if you are looking for something pretty custom and with fancy features and function, pages in particular pages and a custom-done design, then it might make sense to hire a Wordpress designer. They will specialize in all of this specifically, and get your site set up exactly the way you want it. Then you just plug your info in.

    Hope this helps.

I'm going to jump into this.

I am very new to this (affiliate marketing). I had heard about WP in this forum and elsewhere. I made my very first blog with wordpress.com and discovered they wouldn't let me do what I wanted to do, ie, advertising. That was a flop.

Then I discovered wordpress.org. It's not grammar school stuff, but it ain't hard either. I had a site up in a day. I"m learning and tweaking as I go. Actually, I'm proud of what I've been able to do with NO previous experience.

For a newbie it's got to be the only way to go. Unless you want to learn HTML, CSS, et al, which I'm doing as I go along.

I wish you the best. WP is the way to go.

Wordpress is the best if you host your website on linux hosting package with cpanel you would be getting Fantastico using which you can easily install Wordpress just with few clicks... Wordpress is very easy to update, upgrade its version. There are hundreds of useful plugin and free themes which you can use for your WP blog.
there's no CMS like Wordpress, it rocks !!!!
