Advertising ROI in Warrior forum... Is it same as it was in past?

I am just curious to know the experience of other warriors if the ROI of advertising in warrior forum in deffferent sections are same or have any positive or negative changes.

Mine have reduced significantly, even though there's no obvious reasons..

Any experience or suggestions appreciated.

Thanks,
Vikash

Well, there are far fewer users viewing the forum than in the past and there is a much greater percentage of users who are from impoverished countires and can't buy anything. That doesn't mean you can't still make money - but compared to the past, that is what you are dealing with.

I personally do most of my advertising through PPC now - Adwords and Bing. I do some Facebook Ads and some media buys as well. But I'm a big fan of PPC. It depends what you are advertising though whether that suits you.

I've dropped my own direct advertising here on the WF several years ago due to unfavorable demographics and other factors.

However, incidental traffic from Google (the WF appears consistently near the top) and outside linking to your posts here can be a substantial boost for traffic and publicity.

Most people start here, then move onto external channels that allow you to do much more than just a wso or a banner, more scalable, with less effort, risk and more qualified customers. I agree with myob's point about demographics.

But I think it is an excellent place to get your first customers or to test an idea.

Remember when the big guns used to do their launches on WF? Rarely happens now (if ever), especially given the rule changes and the general mistrust of the marketplace. 98% self-hosted. I think it's been this way for 2-3 years now.

Do you know where previous leads came from? (Simple to add utm campaigns to see this and set up goals. https://support.google.com/analytics.../1033867?hl=en)

It could be related to either the product or the marketing. Could be that people are getting used to your offer (aka "stale"), thread title, competitor offering something similar that's more enticing, etc.

Always good to try out new things, whether that be copy, design, bump times, sticky etc.

Undoubtedly been a decline in wso marketplace traffic, which isn't the end of the world, just means have to increase the amount of visitors that become customers, which is where CRO and split testing enter.
