Default Should I move my blog?

I have a blogger blog and I am having trouble with SEO. It seems like my blog has gotten banned from being indexed for my main 2 keywords. It's getting bizarre, I have done so much work on on-site SEO, and it is indexed for every misspelling, misunderstanding, without spaces, and variation of the keyword, but not the keyword itself. For instance, one of the words in my keyword phrase is "your" and it's indexed for "you're" . Google hates my blog.

What would you do in my position. I have a wordpress blog that I'm trying to put up, would just moving my entire blog and starting over be better than trying to wait for Google to see the light? It's been 3 months, and this keyword is not that competitive.

I am a newbie. I am starting with affiliate sales of a product I use and love, which I write about on a personal blog.

I think the general consensus is that it is always preferable to host your own blog.

I would start over with a new blog with a new domain name hosted on the server of your choice.

Can you copy your content and post it on a new blog?

Thanks, I can copy my content, it will be a PITA though. I have around 65 blog posts. Do you know if it will help get my blog indexed for my keyword though?

I also use blogger for my main (only) blog but google seems to like it as I am somehow on the first and second pages for a lot of searches (according to the Google webmaster tools). I thought google would look upon blogger sites with greater favor since they own it?!?!?

What am I missing here? Am I spinning my wheels or should I stick with blogger since google seems to like me?

Strange issue, I don't really know why this happens? However if you need to move your blog, you don't have to copy every posts. You should be able to import your blog posts to wordpress.com or your own hosted wordpress blog. You should find the solutions by Googling it.

If you are getting traffic, I would not change a thing. Wait until you can affort the hosting.

Ha, the same day I am complaining, my traffic shoots up. I have 30 hits and it's not even noon, the most hits I've ever gotten is 35. Maybe they got around to indexing my site, that would be such a blessing.

I use blogger, but I plan on hosting my own soon. I've heard stories of people waking up one morning and their entire blog has been shut down by blogger, with no reason or explanation, has anyone heard of this? Also, is there a way to host your own with blogger? Meaning still use blogger but in a way they can't shut it down if they want?

This doesn't happen. A Blogger blog can be suspended but if you gave them a legit email that you check regularly when you signed up, you'll get an email informing you that this has happened. You then request a manual review and, as long as your blog isn't a link farm or something else obviously spammy it will be restored to you, usually within a day or so. I've only had this happen once and I have around 50 Blogger blogs I use for niche marketing.

If you don't take any action, then the blog will be deleted within about 10 days of the notification. This is probably what actually happened to people who say that they woke up and their blog was deleted. They ignored the notification. You can have something like this happen with your own hosting if you ignore a bandwidth warning or a domain renewal notice.

You can do this from the Blogger interface. At least some of the data is still stored on Google's servers and you're still responsible for following their terms of service, which isn't a problem unless you're a spammer, hater or have questionable vices.
