Tracking conversion rate of your WSO

One of the coolest features of this new forum is that you can insert images into your WSO. I've been able to use my tracking software, which uses 1x1 image file for tracking, to find out number of unique visitors and conversion rate.

The image, however, shows up as X. I can live with that

Given the nature of your software, Peter...

...I'm NOT surprised you found that trick out so quickly!

Nice! And good luck, it looks awesome.

    Peter,

Could you maybe make the image into a full stop (period) and, if it is larger than a full stop, make the rest of the image the same colout as the background in the WSO Forum?

I think even without the tracking software you can compute it by checking the number of views because even you visit it twice, the views can be the same.

Unfortunately html doesn't work like that. It is either the tracking script or an image. You cannot have both

I have a solution for this that I will be making available as part of the WSO Tracker soon.

It will be able to show up completely transparent or be used for other purposes (like sale counts, offer expiration, etc).

        Stay tuned.

On second thoughts I should clarify that the above is general true. However there are a few tricks that can get around it.

Yeah, I'd love to see if someone has a solution for this. It's no big deal to me but this can really help others in the forum.

      OH MY!

Really Peter ... awesome awesome AWESOME post here.
Thanks Steve. I've been trying to come up with a way to track WSO, even from the old forum. As soon as I found out you can insert image, this is the first thing that came to my mind.

You can still calculate the conversion rate using number of views, but number of views isn't unique visitors. Thus it wouldn't be an accurate measurement

Also, tracking conversion rate of WSO can be useful in a product launch

Before you do a product launch run WSO on your product and test your conversion rate. Then you can...

        1) Test to increase your conversion rate as much as possible. It'll have a big impact your product launch

        2) You can also show your numbers to potential JV partners or JV brokers to give an idea what they can expect from it.

          I'm going to politely disagree.

Your WSO is probably not your product sales letter -- your sales letter is the conversion rate that JV partners/brokers will want to know. That's where their promotions will send their targeted prospect to -- not your WSO.

Some products have 15+ pages of copy to sell the product. Show me any WSOs that have sales letters that long and I'd guess most of them aren't converting well. Marketers here are in a rush and usually don't want to read that much copy to decide if you're making an offer that they want to grab.

Also, WSO traffic is just one source of product traffic and different type of buyers. Someone who will pay $47 for your WSO may not pay $297 for the product at regular price like other people will.

I like to use the WSO to test offers and to test headlines. Even headline tests aren't 100% because the forum will limit how many characters you use to get prospects to "open" your WSO. Some of the most famous headlines that are in marketers swipe files are too long to fit in the forum headline space provided.

          Hope that helps,

          Mike
