Affiliate marketing without a website

So I want to get into affiliate marketing. I am teaching myself how to do that. Right now however I have no website although I do plan on getting one soon. However, I would like to get a head start on things and promote affiliate links without having a website. Is it possible. I read somewhere on line that you can't do it successfully using solo ads or safelists and Craiglsit and other free advertising pages won't work either. Facebook seems pointless too(baded on previous experience). Is my only option for promoting affiliate links without a website to post on certain forums or are there exceptions to some of the rules I mentioned? For example although he didn't say it the person who wrote an article warning about affiliate marketing without a website seemed to imply that most safelists are scams. He said you will get nowhere doing that. So what I want to know is what does work? Thanks.

    Well,

It depends on what you want to accomplish.

Do you want to build a following or create a series of one-off sales?

If the link I am promoting leads the viewer(potential buyer) to a capture page or some kind of autoresponder I would eventually get a percentage of the sale if the person later bought something that was initially through my link right?

The best way to do it: set up a 1-page lander, get the optins and promote to your list later. That's the best longterm option I'd recommend (and that's what I've been doing..)

I really don't even know how to do this though. It seems like I would still need a domain name and hosting or at least a blog(which usually requires those things anyway).

Safelists can be effective if you use them to build a list. Technically you don't need to have a website to use them but if you simply advertise a sales page don't expect to earn any commissions. As far as affiliate marketing without a website, there are some forums where you can display affiliate links in your sig. This isn't one of them so don't try it here. However, it is very difficult to earn a commission if you are not building relationships. A blog allows you to do this and if you can provide an opt-in form to follow up even better.

Thanks. I asked another question in this thread regarding this but I guess you missed it. Here it is(cut and pasted from my own post):

If the link I am promoting leads the viewer(potential buyer) to a capture page or some kind of autoresponder I would eventually get a percentage of the sale if the person later bought something that was initially through my link right?

As far as the blog thing goes it seems that will take some time to get up and running. I am looking into it though. I have to figure out what is the best blog to use, a domain name, how to add a link etc. I guess that's a whole other thread though.

Thanks, I did miss it. Yes, that's not a bad strategy. I actually use a simple program that I paid for once in which I don't have to pay for hosting and can build unlimited opt-in pages and works with any autoresponder.

It all depends on how much integrity that other marketer has who 'collects' the lead.

I would refrain from building someone else's list on your dime.

Well, if I'm not mistaken a blog fits that description too.

I believe solo ads are the best way to make good amount of money in affiliate marketing. Not sure how it is a scam!

Yeah, but you need to be really selective and discriminatory. There are plenty of junk solo ads out there. So be careful

It is not surprised that affiliate marketing is becoming harder today. Even harder for newbies. Looking at the current situation, having a domain and website is likely to be a MUST if you wanted to run an affiliate business, be it tangible or intangible products you're promoting.

However don't give up. I know there is a program (I am strongly recommending it to you!) to help you start with affiliate marketing. Try : WealthyAffiliate.com. The course is build around community who is helping each other in terms of building affiliate business. You can ask there what works and what don't for today affiliate.

I would get an Aweber account and begin to build a list. Aweber allows you to have a one page (html) optin page also known as a squeeze page. This is where you will send traffic to. Build your list first then pre-sell your subscribers on affiliate offers that you have used.

My personal answer that yes it possible and in fact I have done it recently. I don't need any kind of websites, however this strategy works only if you use PPC network, for example Bing Ads. I wouldn't recommend using Google Adwords for two reasons:

    1. Too expensive keywords
    2. With 90% probability your account gets banned

I'm not here to advertise anything, but I provide a course for free about how to make money with CPA. One of the topics covered in that course is how to get traffic without a website to CPA offer or affiliate offer. I have tested same method with Clickbank and other CPA networks and it works. When you’re an affiliate, you have two kinds of competition:

    1) Competition from those selling similar products.

    2) Competition from other affiliates. Naturally, there are others selling the EXACT same product to the same market

Here’s how to whip your competition and put more money in your pocket…

    1) Create a USP (unique selling proposition)
    2) Add value to your offers (with products)
    3) Add value to your offers (with services)
    4) Develop relationships with your prospects
    5) Create and market your brand

One mistake affiliates make is sending traffic strait to the vendors page. Instead you should build your list and re-sell to your list. Other wise you will be finding new leads all the time. You can get a free blog and even a free autoresponder to build your list.

It's always better to go with your own website and start building your list. Instead of sending the traffic straight to the sales page you send it to your squeeze page so that you build a list where you then promote the products.

But to answer your question yes, you can try some strategies without a website. Not only forum marketing but also youtube marketing.

If you look to the tech reviewers in youtube most of them have Amazon affiliate links in their Youtube videos descriptions. They're basically affiliates trying to get commissions without using their own website.

If you go that way, best of luck. And keep in mind you'll need a website as soon as possible to unlock more opportunities and to control your own business.

Don't try to get a head start. Get your own website domain name first.

Plus, don't try to teach yourself how to do affiliate marketing. Find a good mentor/s and then do as they teach. It will cut a lot of frustrations and time in your business.

You need to find a product/service that is in demand and is proven to make sales with low refunds Look at EPC's or earning per click. If you can't find them ask the vendor. If they don't tell you then move on to another product.

You should not drive traffics straight to the affiliate offer for a few reasons:
    1) Every amateur will do the same thing, drive traffic to affiliate offer page. Visitor do not response well with the same product page shown to them over and over again.
    2) You should build your list. The money is always in the list. So, drive traffic to an opt-in page, where you kind of prepare them/pre-frame the visitor mindset about the affiliate product, after they opt-in to ur list, send them to the product page.

Create the sales funnels, opt-in page, auto-responder, etc can be a very daunting tasks. But if you are interested, click my signature below to find out more about Project Breakthrough, which will literally take you by your hand and show you how to create the sales funnels, driving traffics, tracking links, etc... and it is 100% FREE.
