Default Is this possible? Need advise from a blog expert...

Is it possible to transfer a blog with plenty of content
hosted (on a personal domain) on Blogger to a WordPress
on my own domain?

Do you know can this be done?

Thanks in advance for your support!

You could copy and paste, but you will have duplicate content issues unless you can exactly duplicate all the URL's on the new site. If your blog is not too big, it could be doable.

Your original site would have to host your domain in the form of www.yourdomain.com so that you could simply adjust the name servers. It wouldn't work if the site was on a subdomain of the free host. You'd create duplicate content then.

There are several things you can do:

- Use the Blogger Custom Domain feature to redirect traffic to your domain. There wouldn't be any duplicate content that way.

You would still be using the Blogger interface to post, though.

- Wordpress can import posts directly from Blogger.

WordPress › Support I cant able to import blogger ?

- Export your posts as XML from Blogger via the Export Blog feature:

I'm not sure if that file would be importable to Wordpress (and if nothing else, it's a good backup of your blog).

Thanks guys!

I was able to get it moved and installed the new theme
but the links for each article on the site don't work now
that the new theme is up. Oh boy...

Any idea what could be the problem?
