Working with ClickBank

How does Clickbank Internet Marketing work? Do you need your own website/hosting/domain? Which criteria do you use in order to choose the correct product to offer? How does the payout system work? Does it cost any money/membership fee to get started?

Clickbank is free to join. All you need is to find a good product and offer it to your list.

How ClickBank works; you can either list your products there as a vendor and have affiliates promote it for you and they get paid a commission, or you can go to ClickBank as an affiliate yourself to promote other people's products.

Do you need your own website/hosting/domain: I personally got started on ClickBank by buying a domain name ($15/year), that was my only start-up cost.

What I had was a fitness-related domain, and I forwarded it to a ClickBank product called "The Truth About Six Pack Abs".

I then created YouTube videos around topics like exercises to get lean/ripped, what foods make you pack on the most fat, etc.

At the end of every video, I told the viewer to check out the link in the description below my video if they wanted to see the real truth behind having six pack abs.

When they clicked the link (my domain name) it forwarded to the product sales page; when people bought it I earned a commission.

Criteria I use for selecting the right product: I look for a product in a market I can see myself promoting for the long-haul, and I look over the sales pages to see which ones I think will convert well.

How the payout system works: you need to make at least 2 sales from different payment methods (such as PayPal and Visa). You can get paid via check or direct deposit. Also, there's a minimum payment setting, the default is $100.

Does it cost any money to get started: No, it does not. ClickBank is free, and like I mentioned above I got started with just a domain name so I could forward that to my affiliate links. All extra costs are from your marketing/promotion/tools.

    Regards,
    Daniel

Clickbank charges $50 for every product you publish. 2.50 per pay period for "processing", and 7.5% + $1 on every sale you make as a vendor/publisher.

They offer advertising (PPC) on their site as well, which is how they make money.

On the affiliate side, it's free to join, but Clickbank makes money off of affiliates by selling them their "university"...and then up-selling the affiliates until all their money is gone. Just like any other fake guru. They actually have fake gurus "teaching" this stuff.

    Best advice? Avoid Clickbank.

You don't need a website, domain or anything and there is no fee to get started. You can simply add videos on an Youtube channel and have affiliate links in the video description, sending people to a product that is related to the info in the video. Or you can share the links on social media (without being spammy, of course)

Choose a topic that you are passionate about and already have some knowledge. To begin with, you can simply pick the best selling products in that field (sort products by popularity or by gravity)

Maybe you would like to post a few links to the videos where you have affiliate links in the descriptions on Youtube or any social media so we can see how you cloak those links and avoid penalties.

      As for other comments like

is one that people who are not making any money or have not ever experienced how CB manage the payments, cancellations, refunds, affiliates...etc etc would make. I would say the same to people who can't sell something outside of CB. If it doesn't sell then CB won't help you.

I must add that most of my sales on clickbank are for products that I own and sell rather than as an affiliate.

If you have a product to sell that fits with the CB type market and you want to minimise your stress managing the processes that CB are good at then you will enjoy what they offer.

There is a reason there are many big marketers using CB.

If you want to be an affiliate then there is a learning curve and there are plenty of superstar affiliates making some serious money but for newbies don't expect too much.

      Same for newbies selling products.

You will always get better results from your own marketing to your own prospects and lists.

You can sell your product outside of Clickbank but why not do both?

The painless admin and regular payments direct into your bank account make up somewhat for the fees but you do need to be active and I would suggest have both your own products that you are selling and mix it up with some affiliate promotion.

Before listing on CB make sure you can generate sales and prove that what you are selling works and generates a return.

Get that right first then consider CB not before.

      Best regards,

      Ozi
