ClickBank Gravity Conflict..

I got a report recently that said to pick products with gravity between 70 to 100, but listening to a video it said to pick products with the highest gravity.

Which is correct? Or what is the right formula?

Thanks in advance.

Brian

Clickbank products are automatically sorted by popularity (= the number of sales)
For highly popular products, the lower the gravity , the better (= less competition)

  • I wouldn´t know. But gravity doesn´t say much anyway. If something has a high gravity it proofs that the product can be sold. But you don´t know how many affiliates are responsible for that high gravity. There may be thousands and everyone could be selling not more than 1 product a month.

Gravity is just a formula for the number of affiliate sales within the last 25 days (I think 25), and the weighting for each sale changes based on how much time has past since the sale. So a sale made today is worth 1 point. Declines 4% per day until it falls off the map.

I suggest you *sort of* ignore gravity. By this I mean:

    1) Use gravity to determine that there ARE other affiliates making sales. I would say gravities of 10+ tell you that is happening. Gravities of 0-5 mean there are not many affiliates successfully promoting something at all. 5+ means there are very few, but some. 10+ means there are still a few, but not zero, and the product may just be a gem with little competition.

    2) No matter what, after you determine that you like the gravity score take a look at he vendor's website and see if it resonates with you. If it doesn't, don't promote.

There are lots of products that have reasonably good conversion, and less competition. The stuff at 75+ gravity is fairly competitive.

The product I sold a couple of days ago( see my thread 'made my first Clickbank Sale') has a gravity of 6. What made me decide to promote it was that I felt it had an excellent sales page and looked like a quality product that I felt I could sell. Quality sales page + quality product + low competition = big opening

Ignore gravity. All that tells you is how many different affiliates are selling it (or buying it through their own link )

Instead focus on solving a problem and then providing a solution with a corresponding product. Read the sales page - does it solve that problem? Is it compelling? Does it make you want the product?

If you are unsure, ask for a review copy (most vendors will comply) - is it a good product?

Instead of thinking about which clickbank product to SELL. Think about the problem first and THEN find a product that will solve that problem.

That's the secret to making money with clickbank.

I've got the problem I mean I know which problem product I want to promote, but I'm between two reports which mention marketing Clickbank products which is where the 'conflict' arose.

Appreciate all of the comments, it's been really informative.

            Thank You all.

              Gravity tells you many things...

First, it tells how popular this product is and how much competition relatively.

Second, when you first start out, try not to target anything above 120... those are very competitive and it takes more time and effort make sale. When you first start out, you want to see quick sale and money, that is great encouragement for you!

I've found w/ clickbank products, it's very hard to know which products will convert the best. Sometimes the worst looking pages will convert the highest and sometimes the best looking pages convert. You just have to do a lot of testing and tracking.

The gravity is just a lead. High gravity are relatively too competitive, you must be on top to market such products. To me I prefer products with 30-200 gravity, here the competition is low and you could make money.
