Script installation services

Hello Warriors ,
im a professional PHP developer who planning to create a Script installation services website .
im going to work with those script " wordpress , PHPBB , VBulletin and IPboard "
i would like people to share thoughts with me about this idea
i need to know if you think if it's a good idea if i can provide people with high quality services ? or its saturated and no need for more websites providing this services anymore .
also i need to know what people looking for in this filed ?
what is the features makes you satisfied enough to buy my services ?

    Honestly, I don't think that will work. For one WordPress and PHPBB can usually be installed with Fantastico or other one click install software. For the others you can usually find someone to do it really cheap if you don't do it yourself.

    I hate to discourage people trying something but I am not sure what value added services could be bundled with script installation.

    Maybe offer 10 articles in the client's niche for WordPress or a forum posting service for the forums.

    You won't get rich providing this service that's for sure

    But if you feel like this is something you would like to do I suggest you look up your
    clients. Find people on forums looking for script installing and offer to help them for
    free or a small fee. So the next time they'll need any help they'll contact you!

    But like Andy said, I don't think this is worth it, just not enough money in it and all
    these help tools are making script installing so easy.

    Script installation, as Andy and Ebbi said, well, most people can do it themselves through their control panels, since most hosting companies include the top scripts with their hosting plans.

    Now, Script Customization, that's a different story. Not many people know how/where to edit their theme php files, even to do something as simple as add their logo to the top of their forum/blog/script.

    If you could offer theme customization with the installation, adding logos, changing fonts/colors to match an existing website theme layout, I believe you would do much better.

    I had a similar idea in mind, but from a homebusiness view.
    A very simple solution for the n00bs into homebiz.
    With just that they need and no more useless addons.
    Skipping the technical mumbojumbo.

    If you can create a webhost controlpanel and really streamline it
    to accommodate the simple folks what would like to have their own
    blog/forum/website, also with a good number of plugins added.

    Just the installing of scripts + domains.
    Email is just a forward service to your ISP adress or whatever.

    As I said above, a simple install service for the n00bs.
    No technical mumbojumbo and advanced choices.
    Just wizards with explanation.

    But, my idea is still on the drawingboard.

      There are tons of paidposting services and most of them are no big-earners.
      Scripts can be installed easily via most control panels.

      My advice: find something people are actively looking for.
      For example configuring a Drupal or Joomla site.
      Especially Joomla is way too complicated for beginners .. a service that would help people to configure it would be probably great.

    I think your idea GREAT!!! (I could have used you over the last few days)

    Now the scripts are normally not that expensive, so your prices would have to be lower then the script. If you were charging me $10 to do it, I would say, yeah please. Let me focus on what I am good at it. If you are charging me $50 or $100 then I would just figure it out as it would not be to complex.

    If you are in India or the Philippines, then you can make a good bit for your cost or living, but if you are in North America, I dont see it being feasible.

    Here is another idea. Train people oversee's, you can get people who do this for $300 to $400 (I am guessing, I may $200 for less intense work) and have them work for you while you find the customers OR May them per a job (I pref not to since I train people really well). Lets say you got 1 guy does 5 a day on average at $10, he gives you $50 a day ($1000 a month). So you will make some and grow. It would take time to make good profit.

      there is a big big different between installing wordpress through Fantastico or hire a professional developer to do it for you .
      we all know that wordpress without plugins mean nothing .
      do the Fantastico installer know the basics plugins required for any blog?
      Maybe offer 10 articles in the client's niche for WordPress or a forum posting service for the forums.
      there will be huge huge extras with the installation .
      some of features will included within the installation :
      wordpress :
      1- 10 basics plugins .
      2- 2 paid plugins which i have the full rights to resell them
      3- 10 templates"you can choose them from about 100 templates" all are Valid XHTML and CSS .
      4- SEO links.
      5- secured installation .
      for all of the other forums there will be a bundle of themes and mods just like wordpress installation.
      plus all of those features you will got a free Cpanel hosting for 1 year .
      and those all features going to be for a cool price not so much may be this cost you are going to pay for hosting in normal.

      i already have some customers because im working as a free lancer for about 5 years for now .
      but im looking for some more.

      do you mean something like plesk , Cpanel and Direct Admin ?
      if yes so to be honest its impossible to create something like by myself only .
      its need more than 4 or 5 developers plus a very good 2 designers at least or im going to publish my beta version in 2111

      from my past experts with people who are new to internet and dream on the money machine i think this is gonna be so so so hard to do .

        There certainly is a big difference. One is free and the other will cost you some cold hard cash. As for the plugins, the basic ones you want to install are easy to find with a Google search and even easier to install.

        I meant if you can offer just the bare essentials.
        Like the install, domain handling, email.
        You can drop the email accounts, just forward the emails.
        That means no spam filters to update.

        Webstats: Give the users a link to free services they can use.
        No need for your own.

        MySQL DBs get installed and deleted with in the
        script install/delete/update system.
        No need for MyPHPadmin (?).

        You probally are going to need a filemanager.
        FTP access: I don't know if you really need it.

        You might need some good tutorials in flash with voice comments.
        That would be something I haven't seen a webhotel use yet.

        As to offer as scripts:
        - CMS: Joomla/Drupal/e107/Dragonfly/CMS Made Simple
        - Blogs: Wordpress/Wordpress MU/Flatpress
        - Forum: PunBB/MyBB/Simple Machine Forum/phpBB/Phorum
        - Webshops: Zencart/CubeCart/OSCommerce
        - A mailinglist
        - OSticket as a supportfunction to their sites.

        A summary:
        Just the things they need, no unnecessary stuff.
        And internal forum as a selfhelp and support from you.
        No helpdesk, just use the forum.

    Hi
    I have used a professional to install scripts - I think the biggest need is for customisation -
    you should do well if you are very familiar with the scripts you install and can offer suggestions on best ways to achieve the functionality the client is needing.
    I suspect you may be more succesful if offering a wider range of services - but there may also be benefits in being a specialist
    you'll never know unless you have a go
